Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Struggling to separate from an Elite FCS school with a new head coach at home........ Deion has given the gas can to the media and haters to flame him.

Deion went about this rebuild all wrong. He wanted to showcase his son, nothing more. He deserves every critique, every doubter. He crapped on people that cared about the school to bring in clout chasers and "me" guys.

He would have been better served building the team around the core that existed and complimented them with transfers and high school kids.
But that would not have generated near as many headlines with his name in them.

I hope for your sake that coach prime is Colrado’s pruitt. Hopefully Colorado can fire him for cause, avoid a payout and then hire a real coach. They have had essentially decades of misery due to their inept athletic department.

Up until his hiring, I have rooted for Colorado. Except when they played Tennessee.

Greenland is 100% North America by pretty much all geographic designations. It's also located on the North American tectonic plate.

However, half of Iceland, half of Japan, and part of Eastern Russian/Siberia is also on the North American plate and they are attributed to other continents.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled bashing of Thursday night football games.

😁

I think he would need 20 sacks. And some of them would have to be in big games.

I also think that guy Travis Hunter is going to play spoiler.

I think Hunter is only getting the hype BECAUSE he's playing for Deion...even as a 2-way player his stats last year weren't exactly Heisman worthy and he faded from all the playing time as the season went on.

57 catches 721 yards 5 TDs
30 tackles, 2 TFLs, 3 INTs, 5 PDs

But if Colorado ends up in the playoff hunt I think you're right that Hunter will be the hot pick/name.

I realize you support your team. After thinking about it a bit more, I kinda am a hater. I want him to fail miserably because of his hubris and his seemingly udder complete lack of compassion and humbleness. Absolutely phenomenal player. Mediocre coach to this point, IMO.
Most people think he ends up getting the USC job..... I think he leaves Colorado and tries to go where Shadeur gets drafted. Deion only cares about Deion and his kids.

There's no way they bring in Deion when their current kryptonite is defense. They're trading a great offense schematically for a flawed one. And the defenses are equally bad.

He has said forever, back when he coached high school, he doesn’t want to coach professional football. We will see if those sentiments stay true.

Deion isnt the only highly recognizable college coach that cares about himself, he’s just outlandish with it. I think its more common than people realize. Freeze is one and there was a lot of people on here that was hoping we got him during our fulmer ad days.

Yeah truthfully ND State is a better team (traditionally) than WCU. So Colorado with so much turnover having a close game wasn't as surprising as NC State struggling imo.
Both were mature teams playing against more talented rosters full of transfers who've never played together. I like the balance to both sides UT takes.

Hypothetically...cause I won't believe it until I see it.

What sort of numbers do you think would get James Pearce Jr. a Heisman?

I think he'd need 60 combined tackles, with 30+ being Solo, and pushing 20 TFLs with 14 or more sacks.

I think 20 sacks probably locks it up as that would tie the single season record and if he's that disruptive Vols are in the playoffs too.
He needs big sacks in big games to win as a defender. Sacks against Kent won't matter. Example - he needs critical sacks at times that matter against OK, Bama, and UGA. Maybe he makes a stop that eeks us out a win against AR.

Travis Hunter already being pushed for Heisman Trophy. I personally don't care but thought it was interesting that a player on a team with a losing record at end of season would be in position to win the award.

Only one individual has every won the Heisman playing for losing team .
And he stole the trophy from Johnny Majors in '56.

Unless Riley leaves that job won't be available for a good while. He should have a pretty good year this season RB is the only position with a brand new face on offense, the rest of the starters have been at USC for at least a year.

To be fair, NDSU under their coaches in the 2010’s were very good, won 9 FCS championships. This is NDSU with a first year head coach going into a packed house Colorado under second year HC Deion Sanders at a D1 school, with cheat code Travis Hunter. Playing field isn’t exactly level, and Buffs still struggled. Culture
Well NDSU's coach had been an assistant there on and off for 10 years, so he knows the culture. They also brought back a lot from last year. Which is why it was a bad matchup. NDSU has a culture of extreme success while Colorado is still rebuilding. As well as Deion has done upgrading the talent he still doesn't have the dudes up front to dominate someone like NDSU, which again, is practically not an FCS team. They really should move up.

I hate Deion's regime as much as anybody, but it's just not any shame to struggle with them. I mean literally every FBS school that has played them has either struggled or lost. I just think some are really hung up on the FCS thing without understanding that the top FCS teams could probably compete for conference titles at the G5 level.

Watching both games...I don't think NC State beats NDSU last night.. WCU was the 20th ranked team to NDSU's 2nd.

I think it's more about controlling Shadeurs career.

Agree, but bro just let us have our Deion hater aid without quantifying it.
