Deadlift and heavy squats will help to increase your T numbers. A guy I workout with had low numbers started a heavy squat and deadlift program and his numbers increased to the point that they wouldn't treat him for low-T.
Farmer carries too. The heavy lifting strategy legit works. Experienced it myself.

Also, eat plenty of fats and don't be afraid of dietary cholesterol. They're needed to produce and balance those sex hormones.
Every day of your life should include fresh farm eggs, red meat and exercise. Enjoy treats in moderation, ex. ice cream, pizza, alcohol. If you do these things you will healthy and happy.

Sorry to have gotten on this cholesterol/Alzeimer’s tangent. Just trying to pass on some things I’ve learned and have experienced myself.

I have worked in the healthcare industry for 35 years. There are many, many wonderful things about modern healthcare and there are many, many bad things concerning modern healthcare.

The beginning of June, I started hitting the gym and eating completely different. Started taking several natural supplements. Started grocery shopping on the outside areas of the store. I’m 54 and have lost 8% body fat and am gaining crazy strength and haven’t felt this good mentally in years.

I went off my statin and will soon be coming off my blood pressure medication. I will soon be coming off of my head meds. Bottom line, some specific lifestyle changes can make all the difference.
Well done, CAB. 👍

Been on a similar journey and now that I have hit old man stage it has served me very well. Now, I Keto and keep it off while staying active. Still take no meds and all of my blood lab markers are in normal ranges. You will never regret the actions you took.

Farmers carries are great especially for those advancing in age. I heard someone say once that the reason so many older people fall is beacuse they lose their grip strength and leg strength. I saw this happen with my father in law with multiple falls before his passing in 2020.

I am working through a new max program at my gym. Lifting heavy and taking 15 minute outdoor walks 3 times per day on my breaks at work. Keep my diet pretty simple and have seen big results. Down 16 lbs of fat and working to drop an additional 15 lbs of fat while building muscle during this 16 week period.

@SSVol

I guess I'll just go with the Lion's Mane and Niacin. I ordered for delivery tomorrow. I went ahead and ordered the powder for easier dosage adjustments. I'll run a dosage by you before I take it. I read the niacin can give you some weird feelings.
What brand did you order and from which site?

(I've got some lions mane capsules in my Amazon cart, but not decided on the brand)

Thank you brother. I started 3 days a week at the gym. Now I’m at 5. 1.25 hrs each session. I haven’t told my provider what I’m doing. Can’t wait to go see her and have my BP taken and bloodwork ran.

I emailed you. Hasn't bounced, but don't know if the address is still good.

I was looking at Niacin for cholesterol as my bad cholesterol has been elevated recently and my diet and exercise regimes have not really changed a whole lot. What I saw was that Niacin had to be taken in pretty elevated doses in order to have much impact on LDL. Is that what you are taking it for? I already consume a daily fish oil supplement. Is there a difference between the fish oil and the niacin? Don't want to waste money or flood my body with stuff it is just likely to flush.

Put those farmers' carries up and down stairs and they become even better!

My cholesterol is really good. Can't recall my numbers. I was worried my numbers might spike when I went low carb and my fat intake went up.

I'm taking the niacin to supplement to the lions mane. It's supposed to help with lions mane.

I was doing low card, high fat/protein for the better part of two years and my bloodwork was perfect. I got off the low carb this year and my Dr warned me of elevating triglycerides. lol

It is thought to improve the process of getting certain brain aiding chemicals into the brain.

I will say health is a complex conversation. No one size fits all. In my research one study revealed that of all the healthy diets studied around the world the one consistent fact was removal of meat had the highest correlation to healthy biomarkers. They said even if the person ate chips it was still better. You have others that will swear to you we should only ever eat meat. I think the truths are:

Get good sleep
Drink plenty of water
Walk (better than RX for depression)
Try to eat in moderation.
If you do these you likely don't need a lot of RX, but never ignore family history and genetics.
