NO POLITICS IN GRAMPS' THREAD!LOL.
My only response to that kind of thing will be ....
Political Echo Chambers = Boring .... The Politics Forum of VolNation = Political Echo Chamber
The discussion of politics can be interesting, even enlightening, if it includes at least some debate. The only debate here is over just how great Donald Trump is, and just how evil Democrats are.
For the most part, there is complete agreement that Republicans and Donald Trump are righteous, and Democrats are the root of all that is evil and wrong in the world.
What bothers me, is that I think that is what most of the posters here want. This forum is so insular in nature, that opposing perspectives are reacted upon with confusion. You want the echo chamber. I personally think that a bunch of people in full agreement on every political topic is boring. However, I respect the fact that is what the overwhelming majority here wants.
Like I said .... that only applies to politics. Nothing wrong with us agreeing on how great the Vols are and how lame Alabama is. Will still post in the sports forums. We will agree more often than not in those forums.
Go Vols!
I don't believe the 25-cap is still in effect. I believe the only cap this season is the roster limit, which for most schools is 85, but for us, will be 83 because of Pruitt.Just a heads up on recruiting...
4* TE Brahme expected to flip from Oregon to us Friday.
4* Safety Hayward expected to commit to us Saturday
^^ would be our 5th and 6th highest ranked kids in this class.
Both are top 100 players
NEXT up after them is UGA commit 4* LB Perlotte. He is supposed to be in Knox this weekend and we have a good shot to flip him according to some. Top 200 player
4* CB Koninbanny is said to be leaning UT also. He is coming to visit this weekend or next. Also a top 200 player.
Then theres still no2 overall 5* OT Sanders to commit on 8/17
2 more high 4* Oline guys in Perry and Gaston that have us in their final 3 schools.
We have 18 commits now with a hard cap of 25 per class. We will probably take 5 more kids and leave 2 spots open for portal transfers. If we get 5 of these top players though and Petty or Gaston wants to come here we will likely take them anyway...qe are also trying to flip a Tennessee HS RB that is a 3* but committed to USC trojans now.
That looks nothing like Nerd. Pigmentation is all wrong.

I'd also add that we appear to be looking for a second RB to add to this class. We've been talking to a kid committed to USC (the real one, not SCar), and a couple of other kids.
I think the taking from Georgia thing is something that is going unmentioned. or not given enough credit. In terms of the number of 4 star guys, we are getting similar numbers to previous coaches, but now we are battling against the upper echelons of the sport for them. Was gonna post this myself, you saved me the trouble. Thx
Thanks for this...did not know the hard cap was gone this cycle. Nice. Aside from the fact that this is the best class in CJH tenure, its important how many of these guys have picked us over UGA. We have 3 more guys I listed above that will likely pick UT over the pups, looks like close to 1/3 of our class will have chosen us over those scoundrels. Thats huge in a couple different ways, both on the field and in public perception. Getting Gass last weekend was huge, it is always great to see a UGA or Bama (or both)hat left on the table when a kid chooses UT over them.
I mentioned the RB committed to USC above, but didn't mention the really fast RB we were chasing (Mills-Knight?).because all the recent projections have him going to OM...I am not sure which other RBs we have a decent shot at landing but it would be great to snag another RB in this class... thx for your help bud. I am so ready for football to start up again.

before we were battling the Auburns, (current) Florida, Maryland type programs for their 4 stars. Now we are battling for 4 stars against Georgia, Bama, Ohio State, and Oregon. that likely means we are getting a better quality player even if they have the same/similar rating of 4*.
and even our lowest rated guy (House) was down to Georgia, Bama, and UT. the rankings are helpful indicators, but they aren't the end all be all people want them to be.
its subtle progress and stepping stones, but they are important ones, and as 2022 showed, we don't have to be the most talented team to win big games.

So for anybody into buying new appliances. The new freezer works fine at cooling food, but there are a couple of issues - probably due to regulators. First the door seals are so strong it takes a crowbar to get the door open. Just spent the last 20 minutes getting the thing leveled again after pulling it off the leveling blocks trying to pull the door open while holding food in the other hand. And somebody needs to define "garage ready" - not fun trying to get the leveling screws back in because designers don't seem to realize that garage floors have a slope for a reason, so what works for a level floor doesn't necessarily work for a sloped floor. The other thing is the warning label inside telling you that the new environmentally friendly coolant is flammable.
Sometimes progress just isn't. I'm predicting more of this as we boomers fade into the sunset - just can't replace wisdom and experience with ambition and whatever else is going around. Since I hit 78 earlier this week, I'm solidly in the grumpy old man league.

Flammable refrigerant? Mercy..might as well go back to ammonia. kinda joking. So for anybody into buying new appliances. 100 Man rosters? That is a bunch of players that get little to no playing time. Might we ever see JV Ball again?
