Relax, there will be plenty of miscues like this and people catching themselves, as she did. Its a good thing people are going to start being held to a higher standard in their phraseology. Nothing wrong with a return to a higher state of decorum.

I think disagreement is fine. We are just disagreeing in unhealthy ways. Biden has contributed to that.

I’m not a Joe Biden sycophant. I haven’t gone out of my way to criticize or defend him on here for the reasons raised in this conversation (but have done both in the past three years). My opinion is probably more favorable than the forum consensus (see: right wing echo chamber), but he’s been a disappointment, despite low expectations and known policy disagreements going in. I was disappointed from the moment they made Schumer speaker and hit a low water mark when he announced he was running for re-election. Things haven’t improved since.

The shot that killed the woman storming the Capitol and coming through a broken window? The cop is supposed to defend federal buildings with force if necessary. They should have shop more Pall rioters. They certainly would have it, they were browns. Especially people who were burnt sienna, guaranteed they would have.

With that said, we do need to calm it down.... we meaning the media and news personalities. People on social media will always be idiots, post stupid **** and be keyboard warriors.

Bought a ladder and...: What shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks did before Donald Trump assassination attempt

A CNN report suggests that Crooks made a series of stops to stock up on ammo before the attack. According to the report, he practised firing at a shooting range a day just before the attack. He purchased a five-foot ladder and 50 rounds of ammunition from a local gun store in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, on the day of the attack.

The report, citing sources, said Crooks used the same ladder to climb the building from where he opened fire at Trump.

The law enforcement officials told CNN that on the day of the attack, Crooks drove his Hyundai Sonata north to Butler, Pennsylvania, to mix in the crowd present at Trump’s rally. The enforcement officials also recovered an improvised explosive device wired to a transmitter he carried, suggesting a potential plan for a more destructive attack.

Chances are, you are largely correct. But we live in weird times. His main audience are movies directed towards Caucasian families with children. That group leans R. Kid Rock, 50 Cent, and Amber Rose have reinvented themselves and have prominent political voices for Christ sakes...

Or MJT, or (insert name of WWE fan here). Its going to cut both ways. Direction to put a lid on it should come from the top and be repeated. Biden has done so now several times already. Trump once that I know of but he has an opportunity Thursday night to really turn the ship around. If he thanked Biden for his call Saturday and for his prayers, and then immediately said "but I'm going to defeat you in November based on policies and merit" he'd gain a lot of respect from me.

The real story from puddinhead's investigation:

shooter was a registered ultra maga repub who crawled on the roof with his ultra maga assault weapon with an extra large clip of magazines to get a good look at the greatest threat to american democracy since WW2 and it accidently made a noise and the heroic USSS got the dangerous orangeman up after he fell down.

So far, I have not seen or heard of anything pointing to a political motive for this, at all. We'll know once the phone is cracked and the contents revealed, but every interview I've heard or read of anyone who knew him is that he was apolitical, just a loner kid bullied in school.

Would not surprise me if it turns out Crooks would have shot at Biden to get attention in a world that was otherwise ignoring him had it been a Biden campaign stop instead of Trump. This may change as time goes on, but so far I'm just not hearing anything that shows he went after Trump, in particular, much less why.
