Losing his job or resigning is fair enough - consequences of his freely chosen actions.

Harassing him is wrong; one may choose to not be associate with him, fair enough, but harassing, not right.

To do anything negative to his family is just wrong; his actions have nothing to do with how they should be treated. Those choosing such actions are just as bad as he has shown himself to be. Can’t complain about him when they act in a similar hate filled manner.

The inflammatory rhetoric moral high ground ship sailed (again) when a dude in this thread quadrupled down defending a Republican congresswoman calling her political opposition evil and not one of the suddenly concerned right wing folks told him off. It ended up going on for multiple pages and he got no pushback from any of the folks who were carping about rhetoric a few days ago.

If calling out inflammatory rhetoric only matters to you when you can use it to smear the left, then it’s a symptom of the same disease as the inflammatory rhetoric itself and hypocrisy is not persuasive.

Maybe think about what you’re trying to accomplish by making these type of posts and be honest with yourself.

The fact that you think 48 hrs has something to do with it is weird. There was no need for an emergency apology by JB, especially because he didn't say or do anything wrong.

The idea that he would need to break up his band because of a joke his bandmate made is completely new territory, and he's going way above and beyond.

He has been getting huge pushback from the right for 48 hours. If he said Sunday IN HIS OWN WORDS that he wasnt cool with that, etc, etc., thats one thing.

But once it was clear the actual thing that makes him money, his movie career, was in jeopardy, you get the pausing of a side project and a sanitized PR statement.

Just like how I dont buy JD Vance's change in another thread, I dont buy this...

I didn’t call you out for not calling out others. The guy on this thread was just the latest, most immediate, post-shooting example of inconsistency.

A re-read of any thread about January 6 and probably the Paul Pelosi attack would show that you don’t actually care about inflammatory rhetoric and have refused to acknowledge any politically inconvenient events as being direct consequences of inflammatory rhetoric in the past.

Trying to now moralize about rhetoric appears insincere because you’re not consistent. If it’s not sincere and not consistent then it’s not persuasive.

If it’s not persuasive then what are you accomplishing by making these posts crying about Biden? You don’t need to explain yourself to me, hence the “be honest with yourself.” Although it seems even that little honesty is too much to ask of you.
