Trump Assassination Attempt(s)

Pearl Harbor, 9/11 and the Trump Shooting: The Dumbest Major Security Failures in U.S. History

View attachment 658966

The two greatest intelligence and security failures in U.S. history were the totemic sneak attacks on Pearl Harbor and 9/11.

Separated by 60 years, both failures shared striking similarities. Clues to both were available in the raw intelligence gathered by the U.S. but they slipped through the gaps of multi-agency cooperation, poorly focused resources and a failure of imagination. The failings were profound but at least they were understandable—the security failure on Saturday that allowed a sniper to fire shots at President Donald Trump was just plain dumb.

How on earth could you not secure the single most obvious elevated sniper position directly overlooking the site of a presidential candidate’s speech?

Unfortunately just wait until Biden's Border Policy comes into play down the road.

Mayorkis won't leave until he is escorted out in January. Hopefully that POS will never work in government again.

Maybe we can get him and Fauci hanged on the same PPV event.
I understand the anger, and I'm sure you're just joking with the comment, but isn't this the kind of rhetoric that needs to end? It's becoming too much of a habit when expressing one's opinions, and we need to do better.

Donald Trump could give a speech in the north endzone of Neyland. Someone with an AR can climb up 30 rows in the South endzone, pull out an AR, wait a couple of minutes, be pointed out by several other people, and the SS does nothing until he gets off a few clear line shots 130 yards away because he's outside their perimeter and the local rent a cops have jurisdiction......

Have you searched for any resources outlining what a SOP perimeter distance is? I know you've referenced Millington several times.

SIAP, but can’t link but there’s a report saying a cop actually approached the shooter beforehand? And backed away when the shooter aimed at him?

Have seen that. Apparently fired his shot immediately following, if true.

If true, probably why we're not square in the middle of sh#t we've never came close to seeing today.

My post this am:
I admit I know nothing of SS tech, techniques, or SOP.

Wouldn't the SS snipers need to make sure this isnt some kid wanting to get a view of Trump with a telescope or a photographer with a telescopic lens before they start blasting?

At that distance with decent optics which I’m sure the SS has, they could easily differentiate between a camera/telescope and a rifle.

🚨#BREAKING: The Secret Service are blaming the local Law enforcement and says it was tasked with securing properties surrounding Trump’s rally

📌#Butler | #Pennsylvania

The Secret Service has blamed local law enforcement for failing to secure the rooftop from which gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump. They insisted that the rooftop was outside the perimeter the federal agency was responsible for protecting. Securing and patrolling the factory grounds of AGR International Inc located about 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking on Saturday, was the responsibility of local Pennsylvania police, according to Secret Service representative Anthony Guglielmi, as reported by the New York Times. The Secret Service was tasked only with covering the grounds where Trump’s rally took place, while local police were recruited to assist with those efforts and secure the area outside the rally.
