Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

@McDad here is the weapon in question. It’s a dangerous freaking tool and I knew it. And you can see the final state of bandaging. Full hand splint to immobilize the tendons.

What do you say @Orangeslice13 ? Still no gloves at all when using rotating power tools or wear a chain mail glove on the off hand when wielding this little weapon of maiming and death?

I go gloveless.
I’m extremely careful on plane of rotation. But I should probably glove up.
I always have too till I bought this death trap. It’s an incredibly handy tool but needs to be respected. Doing a little research I found a 3rd party base that adds a wider more stable base with handles to boot.

All things considered, they could score a marketing win by calling them "love handles" ... and finish the commercial because "we know you love your fingers".

Yeah I wouldn’t let them give me anything more then tramadol. Now you say never use gloves or it depends?
Sorry ND i didnt see this part brother. I dont wear gloves when running any power tools except a chainsaw or in wintertime when its super cold i used to wear tight fitting gloves when i was building(not cutting) so the only power tool i would run was the all metal nail gun in my right hand which below about 30 degrees can start to hurt just to hold it with bare hands. Even those were tight fitting gloves (cotton) with the end of the right index finger cutoff for better trigger feel. The same gloves I wear for laying brick/roofing on my left hand to save my fingertips from bleeding. White cotton gloves you buy in 5 packs. But yeah I personally never wear gloves running a saw of any kind or a router etc. I never liked all the "high tech" kind of gloves they have at lowes for $20 a pair when using power tools because it dulls the feedback from my fingertips. Thats just a personal preference thing though. You didnt commit some kind of egregious or boneheaded mistake bud. Again my FIL was an everyday carpenter for close to 3o years before routing off the end of his finger. Routers are just really dangerous tools. Hope that Tramadol does well for you and you're back to 100% in no time man. Thats a gnarly injury ND.

Indeed. Starting to really hurt like hell now that all the numbing has worn off.
Drink lots of alcohol if you need to ND. I would also set timers for rotating tylenol and ibuprofen every 4 hours to keep inflammation down. Thats what causes a good bit of the pain. Angry, angry flesh. Try to sleep as much as you can too.

$112,000 in jello shot sales
They made a fortune. You know those jello shots are made with some cheap ass aristocrat vodka or something. Brilliant idea by whomever is getting a new Vette out of that deal...

Re Rocco's Jello shot challenge. I just saw this in the baseball thread.

Some of you have probably seen this already, but I thought I'd make a separate thread to give it some more visibility.

The Volunteer Club is, of course, thinking way ahead of everybody else by giving Vol fans a chance to contribute to the Rocco's Jello Shot Challenge from a distance—check it out. The cost is $10, with $5 being allocated to the collective and $5 going toward the challenge.

I've done my part a couple times already. Not sure we can match LSU's insane 68,000+ total, but we can certainly try.

One year, Rocco's made almost $350,000 from LSU fans alone.
