Yes, good memory. LSU on Saturday night. But that call and this (Vols) no-call are each correct imo. Stark is not on the plate while the pitcher is still on the rubber. (Someone else here who knows the game better may have a better and supporting or a different take.)

proof positive that human officials select whom and who they do not want to rule for or against. It is always Kentucky (bball), Florida, Georgia, and Bama football. Been that way since 196and2.

I don’t know the exact rule, but the difference was that Stark stepped up and right away from the runner giving him a “lane” to the plate. The LSU catcher stepped into the basepath essentially blocking the plate. The problem was that the runner was out by a long shot and never stepped on home plate. It’s become a judgment rule that is being used too much. Like in the Baltimore-White Sox ending, it was just a ridiculous call when the runner had no clue the SS had moved behind him. When I was playing, as a runner, the base path was mine.

I am all for this! I was pissed when the 1 seed in the West was not awarded to us in basketball this year (stolen from us imo), when it would have been our first. I love the idea of going in as the 1 seed and kicking @ss and taking names! I don't believe in curses. Or, if one prefers: we eat curses for breakfast, bishes. Villains. The SEC is on warning.

I do understand that there is such a thing as "having a target on your back." But we've advanced to the place in football, basketball, and baseball where we always already have a target on our backs. I take the excess worry about the so-called "curse" as a novel way that BVS presents in baseball after we missed the CWS in 2022. Sh!t happens. Never give in, never back down. GBO!

If I have my numbers right, Doc, we need 5 consecutive wins to make the CWS and 5 additional consecutive wins to win the CWS. That on top of our recent 4 consecutive wins to win the SEC Tournament. All we need is...

14-0 !!!

Lol! Of course! If that happens, that’s trash! ECU is not a 16 seed! If it’s not NC State with a 33 - 20 record, then it’s rigged! Then you throw Duke in that region as well is absurd. Duke at one time this year was in the top 10 and may have been in the top five.

ECU went 19-8 in a conference that had only 4 teams with an overall winning record, one of those being a team that was 3 games over .500. And their SoS is #74 in the country

NC St SoS is #3.

ECU is absolutely 16 seed worthy.

I seem to remember fans complaining about Stark's arm in previous years and ranting about baserunners abusing him. It's a great story how through his own efforts and the staff's he has been developed to the point that he was a star of the tournament with that heady and perfectly executed throw. What a game changer that was!

So fans should understand that players will develop as they go?
