2024 Transfer Portal

It's not like three McDonald's All Americans over the last two years haven't come out of the portal. Ruby WhiteHorn, Rickea's high School teammate and former All American was supposed to be on campus last Monday until Kellie was released and cancelled. She did bring in Talasia, Rickea and Jillian all former High School All Americans.
Of course. Portal is still there, it hasn’t gone anywhere. Saved you on that one.

Hmm, they're going to really need some help in the post with Pili leaving...Gardiner? She's from Utah.

She was my first thought. She would be a big pick up for them but definitely isn’t the most epic portal get of the season. Just the most epic for Utah.

I’m not sure what the part about “with some of the staff involved” means. But it makes me think Oregon State and that Rueck may be helping his former players find soft landings. If so that is very generous of him.

I don't like to post his crap but sometimes do it in spite of myself telling me not to.

Agreed, and haven't seen that rumor anywhere else, but I was wondering about Feagin all season. She averaged 15 minutes per game on the year, but Dawn increased that to almost 20 per game from the SEC tournament onwards. Almost felt like an attempt to convince her to stay (total speculation on my part). If she wants to go pro, I could see her wanting to go somewhere where she could really get more significant playing time to show what she can do. But who knows, maybe Dawn plans to start her next year with Watkins, and bring Kitts and Edwards off the bench.

Where do you think everyones favorite coach Jeff Walz is getting his players, or Kim Mulkey, even Gino has used it successfully over the last couple years. It is as much recruiting today as getting them out of high school although if you looked at who had us on their final list for 2025 + the commitment of Nyla Brooks we we trending that way.

Just feels like they will probably have at least one forward transfer. I think Tac is the most likely to transfer then maybe Feagin. Don’t see any of their guards going anywhere.

I do think we should pursue some of these freshman like Janae Kent and other P5 players entering after their first season. Would be nice to add some players with 3 years of eligibility for the stability of the future.

Tired of the foolishness will you be quiet. Destinee Wells started for 3 years as a PG. Averaged 19 points a game. Led Belmont to the NCAA tourney where they advance her soph yr. as their leading facilitator and playmaker. If healthy she is playing on this team. And not for a few minutes. Wells was adjusting to a one dimensional offense and we only saw her play for less than half a season. The offensive system didn’t really maximize her potential. Her 12 games was far less than HVL year in LSU and I don’t see people writing her off completely as a few minutes a game reserve. I would say if Destinee could’ve continued to play she would’ve gotten a lot better as the year went on. Just because you do not like a players style of play it does not make your opinion valid. If Destinee Wells is healthy she is a key piece to this team point blank.
I mean it is a forum and it’s full of opinions. Almost all opinions. Just like yours and whoever you are telling to be quiet. If you disagree that’s cool. Almost always someone on here will. Just put your 2 cents worth in and let it roll.

The above shows the minutes of Marshall’s next to last regular season game vs Old Dominion. I chose this example because Marshall was down at half but came back to win a fairly close game. It doesn’t mean much to me but I thought you would be interested in minutes played in close game near end of season.

My money is on Sakima Walker electing to either grad transfer or call it a day. I don't think Feagin is going anywhere.

Looks like Iowa is gonna have 73 players on their roster…..

I’m betting they end up with a whopping 0 impact transfers. Just a feeling.

They have a very, very large fan base that is dying for someone to cheer for now. If I’m one of the better players in the portal I’m leaving that alone. Following CC is a lot like following CPS. Try as you might, you’re never gonna be as good, win as much or look as good doing it.

So it’s not Kellie, which was the point. No guarantee Caldwell feels the same way as the last staff did about certain players. Tennessee is Tennessee, I’m not worried about players who had us as finals for coach that was fired for under achieving.

Jackson averaged 31.5 ... no one averaged even 32, and no one else broke 30
I was looking at in conference where the competition is overall harder. Those were as I said. Rickea was about 34 JP 32 Jewel 30 and Sara 29. IMO good players want 30 mins.

But they very well might be ok w fewer mins played harder. We’ll see.
