War in Ukraine

I can just see Russian tanks rolling towards Paris, or an air campaign, and the USG saying, nope, not our problem. Kind of defeats the premise that we are stopping Russia now so NATO can prevent further aggression on Europe.

Heh.

Enjoy your connect the dots... right in line with your finger painting.

If we didn’t use the frozen Iranian money to pay the hostages, remember they were awarded money from a lawsuit what makes you morons think we’ll use the Russian money to rebuild Ukraine?

And the United States was #1, right???
US of A is number 1 in a lot of things Ras ....corruption ain't one of them.

Rekinhavoc: Ras, what is that button on your shirt?
Ras: A shirtless Putin, sir.
Rekinhavoc: Where'd you get it?
Ras: I don't remember, sir.
Rekinhavoc: What is that you've got written on your hat?
Ras: "Putin is my spirit animal", sir.
Rekinhavoc: You write "Putin is my spirit animal" on your hat and you wear a shirtless Putin button. What's that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?
Ras: No, sir.
Rekinhavoc: What is it supposed to mean?
Ras: I don't know, sir
Rekinhavoc: You don't know very much, do you?
Ras: No, sir
Rekinhavoc: You'd better get your head and your azz wired together, or I will take a giant sh!t on you.
Ras: Yes, sir.
Rekinhavoc: Now answer my question or you'll be standing tall before Frank.
Ras: I think I was trying to suggest something about Putin is the man, sir.
Rekinhavoc: The what?
Ras: The man. The alpha male thing, sir.
Rekinhavoc: Whose side are you on, son?
Ras: Our side, sir.
Rekinhavoc: Don't you love your country?
Ras: Yes, sir.
Rekinhavoc: Then how about getting with the program? Why don't you jump on the team and come on in for the big win?
Ras: Yes, sir.
Rekinhavoc: Ras, all I've ever asked of my fellow VN'ers is that they don't worship an absolute POS like Putin. We are here to help the world, because inside every commie there is an American trying to get out. It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this Putin craze blows over.

Ras : But Putin had every right.......

Rekinhavoc: Holy sh1T! where's the Tylenol?

That's not going to happen, you know that

A loan... how in the hell is Kyiv going to pay it back?
the soviets were still paying back the WW2 Lend Lease into the 70s, with the last little bit being forgiven when they made a final lump sum payment for less than the total.

seems like 30 year loans aren't just reserved for us poor folks buying houses.

Yeah but Ras is thinking how they can pay it back when they no longer exist because his homies have overrun and absorbed Ukraine into Russia. As far as he’s concerned they won’t exist as a sovereign state in 30 years just as his heroes have stated publicly.

Schill said France could engage a division of 20,000 troops within 30 days to operate as part of an allied coalition. Paris, he added, would be able to command a force of around 60,000 soldiers made up of French and other allied troops. The French army comprises some 121,000 soldiers, with 24,000 reservists.

"If you want peace, prepare for war," the general wrote, quoting a well-known Latin adage. "The sources of crisis are multiplying and carry with them risks of spiraling or extending," the commander added, though he did not specifically refer to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

The hatred and prejudice against Russia in The West has gone off the rails...

IOC urges sports and governments to avoid Russia-organized possible rival to Olympic Games

“The IOC strongly urges all stakeholders of the Olympic movement and all governments to reject any participation in, and support of, any initiative that intends to fully politicize international sport,” it said in a statement published during a meeting of its executive board chaired by IOC president Thomas Bach.

Later Tuesday, the board decided to exclude all Russian and Belarusian athletes from taking part in the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, even if they are granted neutral status to compete at the games.

Shouldn't let any of them participate in the Olympics at all.

Putin Unleashes 'Dagger' Hypersonic Missiles on Kyiv Injuring 17 just hours before arrival of NATO chiefs - as Zelensky pleads for more weapons from the West

Russian President Vladimir Putin has unleased 'dagger' hypersonic missiles on Kyiv, injuring more than a dozen people just hours before NATO chiefs arrived in the region.

Russia carried out its largest attack on the Ukrainian capital in weeks, firing more than 30 missiles at Kyiv early Thursday, after Putin vowed retribution for escalating strikes on Russia's border regions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the West to deliver air defense systems after the attacks, which wounded 17 in Kyiv and the surrounding region.

Ukraine's air force said it shot down 31 Russian missiles fired towards Kyiv.

I'm not wrong at all in my post. Glide bombs aren't going to win this war for russia anymore than more ground based anti-aircraft systems are going to win it for Ukraine. Come on MacAthur impress us with your vast military strategy knowledge and explain to us what Ukraine needs to "stop Russia in it's tracks".

Read it and weep Gramps. In the future, for the love of God, please just educate yourself *slightly* so that you have at least a smidgen of knowledge about what's going on in Ukraine. Dumb donkey.

"Crude glide-bombs—with pop-out wings and bolt-on satellite-guidance kits—arguably are the decisive weapons in the 25th month of Russia’s wider war on Ukraine.

Possibly more decisive than explosive first-person-view drones. Possibly even more-so than the traditional king of battle: artillery.

And at present, there’s very little Ukraine can do to fight back. Its best air-defense missiles and launchers are in desperately short supply. Its ex-Soviet fighter jets lack the range to engage the glide-bombers. And its ex-European F-16s, which might give the Ukrainians a fighting chance, haven’t yet arrived.

Dropping a hundred or more KAB glide-bombs a day from as far away as 40 miles, Russian air force Sukhoi fighter-bombers systematically demolish Ukrainian defenses, easing the way for Russian army assault groups to advance, albeit still at great cost."

MacArthur, are you just now realizing that Ukraine needs AirPower? Maybe you should listen every now and then.
The only way Ukraine wins (and what winning means needs to be defined) this war without US troops on the ground is with an influx of advanced fighter/bomber aircraft and the pilots/crews capable of flying/maintaining them. Patriot or other anti-aircraft systems are not going to provide air superiority and Ukraine will need absolute air superiority to drive the Russians back. They will need to have the capability to strike any Russian position and movement quickly, disrupt the supply lines and kill communications. Until Ukraine can do that no amount of AA systems is winning this war.

If you can't control the air you can't control the ground.
