2024 Presidential Race

What do you want them to do? Tackle him?

And do the same members of the press then kidnap Trump and force him to answer questions form MSM, as opposed to suck ups at Fox?
I understand your medical condition. You know, the severe case of TDS you are dealing with. But give me a break!

For all of Trumps faults, and he has plenty! Not taking questions from the press isn’t one of them. There is no need to kidnap him. The man loves the camera. As President, he continually took the tough questions from a variety of reporters. Even though many of them hated him with the same passion as you do.

Trump didn’t spy on reporters like Obama. Or run from them like Biden. He fought them! Everyday for 4 years as he still is today. Any reasonable person can see that.

I think they should pretend like it didn’t happen and keep telling everyone how great Jose Briben is.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Trump is a serious racist. Years ago, he spent weeks yelling that 5 black kids in NYC should be hanged after they were arrested for assaulting a woman in Central Park. Turns out they were all innocent. Trump yelled the longest and the loudest about Obama not being an American and that he wanted to see his birth certificate. He insulted black reporters during his presidency. He hates dark-skinned people of all kinds. His father attended at KKK rally and I think was arrested there.

You know why this can’t be taken seriously? Because every election cycle we get accusations exactly like this. I mean even Mitt Romney was skewered. Meanwhile, Biden’s long and troubling history with race is never discussed. The only conclusion that can be drawn is you are unserious and don’t really care about racism unless it’s coming from someone with a different colored hat.

It is fun to watch too. The reporters are antagonistic, arrogant, disrespectful and rude. What is sad is most of them are liars. I would have had some of them carried out and not be allowed to attend any more press conferences.

I enjoy it. But I do understand the argument that he should act more Presidential. Take the high road etc. I do understand that argument. But to insinuate that Trumps only willing to take softballs from Fox News is ridiculous.

Since when has Trump not answered questions of the MSM ? He's not the one calling a lid.

I agree. You are trying to get things done. No point in antagonizing the opposition when you need to work together. Even if they are one notch above a moron. Trump is not used to operating in a dysfunctional world of government.

Interesting. So when you say evangelical, this is what you mean. To me, it his sounds like the mark of a serious Christian.

More interesting, I’ve never gotten the same answer to this question, even when I ask someone who identifies as an evangelical. It seems it’s more of a label than a meaningful term. I say that because there doesn’t seem to be a common understanding of what it means.
You could do what most adults would do .... If you genuinely care about the topic, you could research it yourself, and reach your own conclusion. If you do so, I think you will find that the explanations I have given are accurate. As a child, I was a member of an Evangelical Church myself. It was a "Church of Christ". A fire and brimstone Church if there ever was. I was glad to get away from it. Although, I did learn a lot about the Bible while I was a part of it.

I am doing my research. You are part of the research. I genuinely appreciate you answering the question. What you have described is a sincere Christian.

There doesn’t seem to be a clear definition of what an evangelical is, which can be problematic for polling purposes. Who decides who meets the criteria? Is it self reported? And when the question is asked, are there clear guidelines to meeting the evangelical definition or not?

P.S. I see a logical fallacy…an appeal to authority. 😁

Don't know if this will help, and I certainly claim no authority on it, but evangelicals are typically considered to be Protestants across any denomination who feel the need/call to proclaim the Word/Good News/etc. to those who are not of the faith. Some denominations tend to have more fervent followers of this movement, which started in the 1700-1800s, like the Baptists, Pentecostals, and, as BB85 referenced, the Church of Christ. As an Anglican, we are reminded at the end of every service to go out and proclaim the Word/Good News which is technically evangelical, but few Anglicans get accused of being evangelical in nature.

Like BB85, I grew up in a denomination whose members are typically considered to be evangelical: Baptist.

How the Mormons are classified in general, I do not know. Personally, I classify them as Protestant Evangelicals, although other Protestant denominations and even Catholics might hotly debate that topic.

Maybe that helps?

Isn’t that a core tenant of any Christian?

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19‬-‭20‬

I’m just confused on the distinction between a Christian and an evangelical. Can you be a true Christian and not an evangelical? It’s one of the primary commands from Jesus.

I would submit it is a difference in outlook or state of mind. In my example, few Episcopalians would be described on a personal level as evangelical, while I agree with you the Anglican Communion would be considered Evangelical per the Biblical commands and liturgy.

Having said that, you have exceeded the limits of my theological knowledge with regards to this and I hope I have not steered you wrong. If you would like a good intellectual conversation with someone who, like I, was raised Baptist and converted to Anglicism, I recommend contacting Father Joel Huffstetler at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cleveland, TN. He is very well-versed and educated man and likes delving into these types of discussions.

In that particular case,

Immediately after Biden asked to take a few questions and the girl beside him affirmed they would, the reporters should have raised their voices with questions as his obnoxiously shrill handlers almost simultaneously began shooing them away.

If I'm a reporter, I find it notable the POTUS had his agency taken away by the kindergarten PTA.

Thanks I’m really just fascinated by the label and what it means to different people. Your definition and BowlBrother’s have some significant differences. For a term that is used so much in election season, it seems a little shaky.

The gangster is fond of the fellow gangster who runs Hungary---but Hungarians do not like fat Viktor
Orban or his fealty to the War Criminal in Moscow. Like Ukraine and all east Europeans, they want
to be aligned with democratic and prosperous Europe, not suffer under the boot of some Stalinist authoritarians.
