This discussion is all pointless because they were all horrible head coaches. I wish we could just say they were equally bad and leave it at that.

It’s debatable because butch had the advantage of a massive legacy class, then when he let the strength coach go and most of his staff bailed or were let go, the team absolutely fell off a cliff, which one could surmise means all of the success butch ever had in his entire career was off the coattails of others.
Yeah, it's slow when the debate is who sucked worse Butch or Dooley. Moran #1: "I think having your balls crushed in a vise is way worse than having your pecker boiled ." Moran 2: "I don't think your taking into consideration the condition of the vise, it could be oily or be made of low grade steel and have some give."

Nick Saban: Alabama Players' Lack Of 'Class' Contributed To Retirement
From Andrew McCarty MSN

Saban was "disappointed" by the lack of "class" from Alabama players following the team's loss to Michigan in the playoff.
"I want to be clear that wasn't the reason, but some of those events certainly contributed," Saban said. "I was really disappointed in the way that the players acted after the game. You gotta win with class. You gotta lose with class. We had our opportunities to win the game and we didn't do it, and then showing your [expletive] and being frustrated and throwing helmets and doing that stuff ... that's not who we are and what we've promoted in our program."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Really Nick? After a loss you excused one of your players punching a young woman in the head as she ran by him because "he was scared."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I thought we could have a [expletive] of a team next year, and then maybe 70 or 80 percent of the players you talk to, all they want to know is two things: What assurances do I have that I'm going to play because they're thinking about transferring, and how much are you going to pay me?" he said. "Our program here was always built on how much value can we create for your future and your personal development, academic success in graduating and developing an NFL career on the field.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Value in your future" Really? Keeping them broke and with few options while others make millions off of them? Yeah, it was time for you to go.
They just couldn’t pay them as much under the table (like they used to do) as they could get above the table now.

Here is my dad joke for the day. I have an alternate ending I would like to follow up with.

Big Moron and Little Moron were standing on a bridge.... Big Moron fell off and the other didn't, because he was a little more on.

Alternative ending:

Big Moran and Little Moron were standing on a bridge.

Little Moron fell off because Big Moran pushed him straight the hell into the water.

Prove im wrong through his time at miss state

Miss State isn't his "whole career" as you originally stated, so he did finish top 30 twice in 5 seasons.

2022 - 40th (MSU)
2021 - 62nd (MSU)
2020 - 57th (MSU)
2019 - 11th (SDS)
2018 - 2nd (SDS)

That's where his defenses finished in total defense the 5 seasons he was a DC.

Also we finished 22nd (thanks Iowa!) this year in total defense.

I was never bought in to Donnie Tyndall, I always felt like that was the "cheap option until we see if the Pearl situation is going to hurt us" and Donnie helped us out a ton by having some serious skeletons that we used to fire him with cause.

I think Hart knew, but he also knew he could use that as a free pass for the hire after the Pearl violations.
Tyndalls teams were fun to watch and I loved that he used to press but it never would've worked at this level. Shaka had one of the best full court press in CBB at Whitchita St, and completely changed at Texas because he knew it wouldn't work.

Helluva problem!
I didn't watch G-Mac much before his commitment. . . but when I did, I was really surprised how much his style matches Nico's. This season should really give us an idea how similar their play style really is and how far behind (if it all) Mac is to Nico. . . I wasn't expecting Mac to be so athletic running the ball.

I think Aidoo could be the guy to go off tonight... his last 20+ game was at Arkansas. And the last 2 games he's played 28 and 23 minutes.

JJJ I could also see having a great night, he had a really good game at Bama and this will be his last game in his home state.

I expect DK and ZZ to have pretty good nights.

Awaka would be my dark horse to just go ham like he did at Missouri. He didn't get a ton of minutes in the first matchup but grabbed 8 rebounds and scored 6 points, had we went to him more and not tried to play small ball might have won that game.

I think you're remembering someone else... Tyndall's one year was hot garbage, never scored 80 points in a single game and only hit 70 points 8 times total. Nothing fun about scoring 38 in TBA against Bama or 48 against Kentucky.

For someone that's always critical of Barnes' teams and the lack of offense to try and sell Tyndall's garbage as "fun to watch" is pretty dumb...even for you.

That should tell you all you need to know about how much consideration to give Cheggarboards opinions.

I remember Tybdall pressing a lot with his Havoc defense.... I think pressing is fun.
Really nothing more to it then that.
