Loved watching this guy play…. doesn’t get much better than the magician. I know he goes by The wizard but Tennessee gave out a poster when he played that called him the magician… He was a special player.

I remember at the time when Texas ran Barnes off and we got him that I couldn't believe it and I wondered if the Texas AD had just come off a meth bender bankrolled by Dave Hart. I mean we went from My Cousin Vinny to Rick Barnes, unbelievable.

I couldn't believe it either. Felt like lady luck finally showed up for us. He had always been a winner everywhere and I was almost certain we would be in the tourney every year once he got things going again here. Most importantly though, he was the nicest guy in cbb and we would never have to worry about violations or ncaa crap with him here. He is a perfect representative for our program and exactly what we needed then and now.

He hadn’t made it out of the 2nd round in 7 years…. 3 of his last 4 years…. He was below .500 in conference…. He has been much better here than he was toward the end of his Texas career… We got very lucky to have gotten him. It felt good not having to tell myself into a coach like I did when we hired Tyndall… I watched youtube videos of him and couldn’t believe that was the guy that we hired.

He's out the rest of the regular season. Report says they hope to get him back for Big East tournament

I think people forget or don't realize that CRB existed before Texas. He has had a HOF career, but if your earliest memory is when Facebook came to be and aren't into doing your homework then it is easy to see how that could be overlooked.

I said the same thing to my son last night. They know they aren't winning the SEC, Nate Oates may not know it but his teams sure as shootin does. They are in tournament mode.

Tyndall was a bad hire. He was not going to work out.

He did end up recruiting some quality players though. Tariq Owens was a starter for Texas Tech's national finals team. Kevin Punter. Mostella.

Admiral signed with him in the 2015 class.

Tyndall has currently won 4 straight conference tournaments at the JUCO he's been at in Florida.

I hope DW is shooting much higher than Kim English as HC when Barnes retires. English should be fourth or fifth on the list, IMO.

Agreed. I was really interested in the Sims and Ingle intro PCs but you can’t hear any of the questions.
