Why do we have conference tourneys anymore?

One of the biggest BS's in college sports postseason is when a mid-major regular season champion loses their conference tournament and doesn't make the NCAA tournament.

One of the coolest things is when a team who sucked upsets everyone in their conference tournament and gets an automatic bid.

At some degree I love the idea that any team can come together and earn a bid by winning their conference tournament and be a cinderella, but I hate when teams that earmed it over the course of a season lose it because of a stupid tournament.

Part of me wishes all tourney and reg season champs got bids, and it eliminates an at-large team.

Precisely. The conference tourneys are stupid. The entire marathon of the season already established the order of the meritocracy.

“Look, guys, I know you just finished a grueling marathon, we have a clear pecking order, but let’s have this crapshoot wind sprint at the end to establish your pole position in the next marathon… just in case what we just saw wasn’t representative”

I know of a 6'0" PG out of Arkansas who put up 902 pts this year, shot 42% from 3, making 156 3's. As a sophomore....

Wait until March. this place will be a mad house when we go unexpectedly…we’re coming in too hot..But bruce will always be close to my heart I was super young watching him coach and the lineups he had were legendary in my eyes…I was at the Texas game when Lofton drained the Dagger over Durant (loudest I’ve ever heard that place till this day) Beating Memphis staying up late watching it ended up being late to school the next day.the body paint in the student section…getting the legendary Pat summit out of her comfort zone and singing rocky top at halftime and they both helped each other recruit players…

a lot of people forget how close Bruce and Pat were.she thought a lot of him and I never heard her speak highly of any previous coaches that was here the way she did Bruce.just hits different for me and he hasn’t really dropped off since he left so.

I’ll always be rooting for him..irks me people ignore what he achieved here over a hotdog blows my mind.

Just how many carries do you think he’s going to be getting? I expect us to rotate 2 or 3 guys again this year. I think he’ll get roughly the same number of carries that Wright got last year.

I honestly don’t know, but I would wager that he will be playing considerably more snaps than last year. IIRC, Jaylen Wright added on quite a bit of muscle heading into last season.
