He won with inherited players and the most absolutely lucky bender of mid tier acquisitions all smashing simultaneously.
He has a golden ticket in his pocket but he refuses to cash it because he absolutely refuses to spend almost ANY cash let alone “big spending” and his stance on FA relievers is so hilariously terrible and counter to his motive it has to be a troll lol
Also trading William Contreras should’ve got him prosecuted in a court of law. Capital and prospects on a lesser player!! WHO DOES THAT
Brother word is out. William Contreras is damn near the top of most all fantasy catchers lists. He is a superstar and his defense has improved immensely. He is on his way to being a top 2 catcher in the game. He is better, and cheaper ha.I disagree Contreras is the better player. I think it’s close either way. The problem was
A) Giving up the rest of your prospects for a minimal upgrade
B) Giving Murphy a $73M contract extension when you could have signed Contreras to something cheaper*
C) Playing new acquisition 108 games because you have a backup C that is $8M and your manager loves him despite Murphy being clearly better.
It’s bad asset management all around.
(also could be AA tried to get Contreras to a team friendly deal and he didn’t want to sign, hence the trade for Murphy)
Murphy is better defensively, but the bat the second half of the season was extremely poor. I don't think you can say he's that mich of an upgrade with such a poor offensive output.
