I was skeptical, too, but I reached out to a MLB scout that I know when he decided to transfer. He said that it does put doubt in teams’ minds about whether he is durable enough to be a consistent starter. He may very well go high this year, but I think he’s got to show he won’t fade this year like he did his first 2 years. He’s talented, so he will get paid, but the indication I got was that it could definitely hurt his stock. Teams won’t pay big money for him to be a reliever. Tony V literally took one for the team, so good for him.that’s not true though…. MLB will scout the arm and determine what his potential is…. With his arm…. He would have been highly drafted regardless.
