I just got a chance to get in front of a TV and spent about 10 minutes trying to find it on ESPN+, only to Google and find out it’s on Flosports. I mean wtf is that? And what’s the point of ESPN having rights to just about everything, but not covering games where a Top 10 team is playing? That makes zero sense.Yeah, it's nonsense. Minimum is $30. $13/mo if you pay a full year up front.
I might have paid $5, or maybe even $10 if I had friends over to watch just this single game. $30 for an opening game? Theft. I need to see how many games we actually play on flosports this month before I cry too much harder, but I bet it's not many at all. . . maybe just this tournament. Most of our games will be on ESPN in season. Unless you are a baseball nut or wanna ppv $30 for this game.
I have no dislike for her. I couldn't name one of her songs. And she's not over-saturated for me, as I watch VERY little tele and almost no social media except here.I don't have a personal dislike of TS. If you played 4 songs and one was hers, I'd have a 25% chance of picking her song. What bothers me is societies worship of celebrities. The obsession with both entertainers and athletes is pathetic. Many of these entertainers are dumber than hell but we let them tell us how to live, how to vote, how to spend our money, even how to vote. It sickens me how some worship these people.
This is a weekend event with 3 games per day. ESPN doesn’t have enough tv time with basketball games. I don’t know about ESPN streaming, but the host MLB teams probably bid it out. ESPN+ is usually a low cost stream run by the host school. In this case, a MLB team is hosting.I just got a chance to get in front of a TV and spent about 10 minutes trying to find it on ESPN+, only to Google and find out it’s on Flosports. TS will make the 100k back 10 fold in 24 hours by her worshippers buying her merch because of how great they view her for giving that money. It's not for me to judge her motives but how dare those that do.I have no dislike for her. I couldn't name one of her songs. I just thought it was odd that (a) we needed to have "haters" called out here, (b) forcing the "haters" to discuss her more was thought to be a cure for the supposed dislike, and (c) reference to public donation should be expected to change their mind.
I am not nihilist enough to believe that there are no unselfish acts, but I am also realist enough to think that acts done for camera and headlines aren't unselfish. The basis for my belief on that says that they've gotten their reward, so the publicity was probably their desired reward.
I'm ambivalent about TS. I just thought this quasi-enforced respect for her was odd as ****. I can think of very few people that I care what everyone thinks about them. Other peoples' opinion of me doesn't tip the scale much, much less their opinion of some celebrity that I don't know and they don't know me.
Shrug.
Just this tournament…3 games. All others will be on ESPN streaming. The schools themselves provide the resources for the ESPN streaming.I might have paid $5, or maybe even $10 if I had friends over to watch just this single game. $30 for an opening game? Theft.
