2024 Presidential Race

What’s so bad about making a country pay or contribute their portion? You going to let a tenant stay in your house if they don’t pay their rent? No you’re going to kick them out.
1) There is nothing wrong with an American President demanding that a fellow NATO member pay their membership fees.

2) There is nothing wrong with an American President withdrawing the United States from NATO if the US is having to carry too much of the financial burden.

3) There is nothing wrong with an American President trying to remove a fellow NATO member from the organization, if they are habitually delinquent with their membership fees.

Donald Trump said much more than that, however, and it was irresponsible and reckless.

There is something wrong with an American President encouraging an adversary to "do whatever the hell they want," to a strategic American ally, following an invasion, just because of delinquent fees. What Trump said was irrational.

Do you honestly believe he actually said that? I am pretty sure he made all of that up and just said it to his obsessive fans at a rally. No sitting President is dumb enough to say that.

Trump uses hyperbole/lies all of the time to exaggerate and make points.

I swear, some of you guys don't get politicians. No wonder we keep getting Biden vs. Trump nonsense when we have idiots voting all over this country.

I don't believe that he said it, but he did claim to have said it, during a recent campaign rally in South Carolina. It was irrational. Just because it was a lie, doesn't make it okay. It was a very stupid thing to say.

That is Trump's MO, he says stupid things constantly. Still he doesn't run our nation into massive debt. The fact is, he sucks, but he doesn't suck as hard as the current system.

That is what all the Trump haters fail to realize. The US Government/Elites are incompetent and don't care about the American people (including them) but yet they keep supporting them because media says orange hair man bad. Yeah, he is bad but people won't vote Biden who is worse.

Do me a fair, tell me WHY BIDEN IS GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY and stop talking about Trump.

Trump racked up more debt than any 4 year president in our nation's history. Fight the fight but get your facts accurate, my friend.

Not the voters fault.
All politicians are Morans looking to pad their pockets..

Actually it is OUR FAULT. Who is on your school board, county commission, state legislature, etc.? Eventually some of them will climb the later and others will flame out. Elect people with values at THAT LEVEL and let them move up.

Not to mention most the nation turned their back on God and our core beliefs. Did you really think you could do that and not expect the mess we are in today?

I am just waiting for the entire system to come crashing down. It eventually will.

Actually no. My bank account was doing well until the last couple of years. I am feeling the hit right now at Grocery Stores, Pump, etc. Granted he is at fault.

Frankly, the real culprits are Medicare/Medicaid, Social Security, and Military Expenditures, and Welfare. That is effectively 80-90% of our debt and we can't cut any of those except Military, it would be political suicide. So the debt collapse is inevitable.

Democracy has failed and people will say that once we fall. It failed because when people realized that they can vote in social benefits for themselves and not what is general good for nation or mankind, people voted to line their own pocket and it was done.

So, in reality, you can't point to one President, Party, etc. The system failed (will fail).

Actually, yes. Donald Trump added $7.8 trillion to the deb

So I have 3 Posters that are all wrong. Here, from ABC News, is the breakdown of debt increase. The biggest increase was Obama. Prior to him taking office, the Debt was ~$ 10 Trillion and finished over $ 20 Trillion when he exited. Trump took from $ 20 Trillion to just under $ 28 Trillion (not good). Biden has taken it from $ 28 Trillion to $ 31 Trillion so he is better than Obama or Trump so far. The 2020 Stimulus was what got us.
We haven't had reasonable spending (however) since the 1970s or 1980s.

Sir, your bank account is not the measure of debt that is amassed by the House and President.
Trump presided over a larger debt increase than any other 4 yr executive.
No one since Andrew Jackson actually does anything. Everyone from each party contribute to more debt (save Clinton/Gingrich). But Trump's 4 years set a record.

Wrong again. Obama was over $ 10 Trillion increase. Granted it was over a longer stretch of time.

Also to add even greater context, here was who Controlled Congress with National Debt. Again, reputable sources (Federal Agency reporting). Trump's last year showed a sizable increase but Democrats controlled both the House and Senate. Granted, Republicans also deserve credit for the Obama increases as well.

That's why I specified 4 year term.

This and taxes are essentially the only issues I care about. Trump et al set a 4 yr record I hope will never be broken but I know full well it will eventually.

Now you're talking. Spending and budgets start in the house. Nice work

You just confirmed that what I posted was true. Your graph shows that Trump added $7.8 trillion to the debt .... which was exactly what I said he did.

No you said greatest President ever and you also cited debt prior to final year (2020 Stimulus). Both were wrong.

Obama saw over $ 10 Trillion Increase

Trump only spent $ 2 Trillion in debt (again NOT good) prior to Biden. Also with a DEMOCRAT House and Senate. (Granted Obama had Republicans so they deserve heat for that).

The first two years of Trump's presidency, Republicans had control of both chambers of Congress .... and they did nothing to reduce spending.

Clinton/Gingrich added debt to.
