Do you think reality has set in for Bama fans that Saban is no longer their head coach? It probably won't really set in for a lot of them until the first game, a few more at the first loss and reality should slap the rest of them in the mouth by loss #3 or 4, 😂. I would love for them to miss a bowl game this season, while we make the playoffs! 😂 😂 😂

Miami billionaire - and Hurricanes fan - John Ruiz was not happy with Nick.

“Shocked, shocked that somebody in the business for such a long time and on top of his game was totally clueless of what all of this means,” Ruiz told “The Miami Herald.” “He basically said, ‘I’m losing my market dominance because of everything that is going on and then starts… throwing everyone under the bus.”

Ruiz was just getting started.

“This was a very, very poor display of judgment and character,” Ruiz said. “It felt like a little teenager whining about why previously they had free reign and all of a sudden when you level the playing field. It was very ugly of him.

“It’s totally inappropriate the way he conducted himself and handled everything. More egregious is the very statements he made contained multiple NCAA violations of how he is involved in the process of the collectives and speaking to the kids about it and getting the kids involved.

Parts of Maryville are bad. A couple of parts in Alcoa are rough too.

I think the guy was from alcoa. They found his car a few miles from the shooting. Reports say he was injured too.

It happened at 8.30p last night. He could be anywhere by now. I think he's dead in a ditch, stupid enough to go home, or headed to mexico.

Also said he is a previous felon with a firearm. Probably why he started shooting in the first place (felon w/firearm is an auto 5yrs in fed prison I think.)

They ordered him out of the vehicle, he refused. They tased him to no effect and he pulled a gun and opened fire, killing one officer and injuring the other with non life-threatening injuries.

From what I can tell, they found his car a few miles away from the incident.
I hope he rots in a hole as he slowly dies

Many of them are convinced that DeBoer is an upgrade because it means they get a better offensive mind as head coach while Saban will handle all the recruiting. Despite being, you know, retired.

The fact that we are able to do that and still play with as much energy and aggression as we do on defense is a testament to our conditioning. That combined with our depth to me means the only way we lose a game in march is by having the notorious shooting slump. Hopefully DKs dependability can keep us from repeating that phenomenon.

That shooting slump hit us hard in the sweet 16 game against FAU. Blew a double digit lead because we simply ran out of offense and shots weren’t falling. It was the slowest comeback ever, because our defense was playing lights out. UT just could not score.

I find this interesting since bama has just completed their NIL facility (Learfield) right outside of Bryant-Denny stadium. https://www.si.com/college/alabama/...learfield-unveil-the-advantage-center-for-nil

Saban has proposed in recent weeks keeping boosters out of the NIL process by identifying collectives as representatives of a particular school.
Bama has a collective just like we do it is no different than Spyre, the fact the nil collective literally has its own facility outside their stadium is hilarious and once the NCAA falls flat on their face during our “investigation” we will probably do the same thing. Just funny the ncaa thinks they can punish us for something every school does through state and federal laws.

Saban proposed that long ago. Some people have scoffed, but from all indications, he is exactly the source of the tactic the NCAA employed. It was aimed at Nico who Saban got beat out for. He is also the source of the ploy that establishing the NIL deal before the recruit signs is the issue. Now that was not against the law or any NCAA rule. The NCAA had to set up some ex post facto laws to make Saban's idea work, which they did. Kirby was also making an issue of NIL after signing, and for the same reason.

NIL and the portal are increasing parity.

Saban has been promoting NIL to his boosters full bore the entire time he has been talking his bull excrement line to the rest of the country about the fake "crisis" and how bad NIL is.

I have seen recent police video of it happening right here. Short answer - drugs. The video was cleared for public review.

Three officers on the scene. One was a family member. The man is about 300 lbs., middle aged and running down the middle of a highly traveled highway at night in a tourist location you would know. He was screaming gibberish at the people in cars passing by, trying to grab the vehicles. The officers ordered him to stop, he got aggressive toward them and resisted, one officer tazed him, he reacted violently and took off running down the road. They followed him until he ran out of steam. Surrounded him and manhandled him to the ground, put the cuffs on, got him into a squad car. On the way into booking, he damaged the back of the car.

After booking and subsequent release a couple of days later, he did it again within a week of the first incident. That time they just took him down and took him in. He is still in jail - detoxing - I guess.

Most people are totally clueless of what is happening all around them every single day. Thank an officer for his/her service today.
Okay, now I need an explanation of how drugs can stop a taser because that’s frightening for both police and people who want to use them for self defense.

Relax policing on NIL and the values will come down because it will be more transparent IMO. Schools or collectives could easily collude if they really cared about the money. They don't really. The coaches don't either EXCEPT the re-recruiting every year. I guarantee you every coach at a p5 school would be fine with paying 10-30% more than they do now IF the players just stopped being able to move every year. They could give a rip what the player pay is. Unless their collective sucks. They only care about the crap that hurts them: tampering and kids leaving via portal.

This guy moved up a notch in my book

Schools were redoing perfectly good weight rooms every 3 years. Because they had cash to burn. All of that can be redirected to player pay. Let schools contribute to collectives. Then they can tell donors, give to us and we will route to the greatest area of need. A smart school would work to get their collective funded via endowment and pay players off of interest.

In my opinion the way to curb some of the NIL woes is to stop worrying about the money and start focusing on transfer rules. The unlimited transfers is what drives the coaches and NIL's nuts. That is what should be collectively bargained imo. Stop worrying about how much they get and worry instead about how often they can stick their hand out. It should be 2 years unless a coach leaves IMO. You can transfer for hardship too, but if you do you cannot play that year. Akin to juco, but you'd be granted an extra year of eligibility like covid guys were. So effectively you'd gain a redshirt if you left early and sat. What school is going to pay huge money for that scenario? None. That would stop the top dogs hopping to play now, but allow the average joe truly dealing with something to play his sport.

These rules would need to be collectively bargained, but if you gave them a base salary from the conference level you could. That is the other rule I would do. I would not have schools doing pay to players it would be conference driven since the tv deals are.
I’m ready to go to a minor league that drafts players who sign contracts and can have NIL. No schools or NCAA.

Basically, the drug signals overcome the electrical pain signals sent by the taser.

Tasers are not great for EDC self defense tbh. Especially if it's the type that doesn't use darts.

🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 This! Hopefully more will expose him! The sports media won’t. They’ve embraced him as one of them.
1. He lost control of being dominant.

2. Attacked his judgment and character.

3. Exposed him for recruiting violations with NIL using his own statements!…. As usual he did it the way he wanted because he knew he would not be punished. Untouchable

The NCAA is pissed because Heup has done such a great job of steering through the wreckage that they wanted to last a decade or more. That great scene when we beat Saban in Neyland and the fireworks I suppose nearly gave the NCAA a stroke.

The SEC had to intervene this year with completely corrupt officiating all season long to try to hold us down until the NCAA could spring it's crooked new attack.

People forget that Heup already won't get his first full recruiting class until 2028, even without this crooked new attack from the NCAA. But Nico sure looked good in that bowl game, didn't he?! Must have nearly given the 'AA a stroke to see us win like that.

So is he still going to handle all the recruiting, join ESPN and reorganize the NCAA?
