Recruiting Football Talk VII

I wish that we could flip it on the NCAA and they had to release all their email and phone records. I'd be very curious to see who has been talking to them and what they've decided to ignore vs. pursue.
Thing about being the PLAINTIFF is that’s on the table the longer this commences. That’s what felled Hugh Freeze.

Everyone..... READ THAT ARTICLE!!!!!!!!!

Should tell you everything you need to know about the witch hunt for Tennessee right now!

Just a little snippet:

"Usually, the first year of a contract is guaranteed at a certain number. But there are often incentives for players to raise their NIL payments based on how they play. Conversely, a few players mentioned their NIL payments could go down if they don’t perform well. Beyond cash, players often also receive additional incentives like a leased vehicle.

“The way I have it, the first two years are 400 guaranteed, and after my sophomore year I can ask to renegotiate based on how I play,” Recruit 2 said.

If you produce, you get bonuses,” Recruit 12 said. “Some schools do it differently, but that’s how ours does it.”

As for what players must do to earn the money, responses varied from appearing at charity events and social media posts to just being on the team.

“It’s a collective thing,” Recruit 6 said. “Just be part of the team, everybody gets it.”

Recruit 2 said that there were no off-field requirements tied to his pay.

“I think it’s just from the collective,” he said."

NCAA probably: There's nothing to see here.................move on.

the NCAA probably thinks that all of those recruits are at Tennessee

In your opinion, how do you think some schools (UNCs, UGAs and Bamas of the world) evade the selective enforcement? Do you think these schools are simply better at lobbying or is it more sinister ?

Considering how some schools seem to evade selective enforcement and how the officiating was so skewed against us this year in football, I find it extremely hard to remove the tin hat.

This is my dogs come supper time lol

One of my huskies plays the part perfect, her sister could careless if she gets a bite or not. My Yorkie , I almost have to hold a gun on her just to get her to eat period, she is more worried about what the other 2 are doing.

When the news dropped yesterday, my Twitter feed was littered with opposing fans laughing and calling for the death penalty. And then a short time later, the news from the AG drops.

The same thing happened last week when the initial NCAA hit piece dropped from Forde and then a couple hours later, Donde’s statement and the AG antitrust news comes out.

It just baffles me each time when people don’t read the fine print and wait for details to come. It’s also hilarious that so many other opposing fanbases are hoping something bad happens to TN. Ironically, if TN loses the case, their school is probably at risk too.
I hit the click bait myself and was angry. All we had heard was we needed the TRO or it signaled we would lose. Should’ve waited it out.

I guess some are assuming that we don't see where it's going. It may be that we have an idea where it's going but value personal rights above our consumeristic desires (and the Universities'/broadcasters' desire to pocket more $$$).

Is it really for the "great good" of the community when an organization can collude to limit NIL rights? Or is the community damaged when big corp are given such rights above the individual?
Are you really saying that a collectively bargained agreement between labor and employer is bad..or am I misunderstanding you?

So...use that argument for the NFL.
I have often wondered how the NFL and other professional sport get away with things like the draft. I mean they are telling a player where they have to play before they are under contract. I know that all things are done in the name of parity and fairness but I don't think that either of those is necessarily good, it creates a poorer product. Excellence should be rewarded not punished.
In the end legislated parity is harmful. Look at NASCAR, it was a much better product before clone cars and restrictor plates. A competition yellow is really welfare for the losers and erases a driver's and a crew's hard work to build a lead.
I hear on here all time complaints about corrupt officials creating an advantage for chosen teams and I agree it happens. Why then is it okay to create rules that favor "needy" teams? Fact is some teams have advantages, money, talent, officials, get over it play ball and whip them anyway.

That's all well and good, however... and with all due respect.

I neither asked for your point, nor directed the post in question at you. Why jump into our conversation about recruiting competitiveness, enforce your perspective, and insult people because we aren't talking about your point?
🤦‍♂️ whatever..🙋‍♂️

If the NCAA plays that card, they'll need more attorneys. Immediately.
Why do people not understand that the MOMENT the NCAA does that...Nico and Tennessee will sue and absolutely WILL get a TRO quickly and then an injunction?

It's like people can read...but not understand..🤦‍♂️

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to learn that those schools are giving kickbacks to people within the NCAA-holes.
