Saw a video of him talking 2 weeks ago (video could be older than that, I suppose it is). . . he was really skinny, you could tell he was real sick, but even then he didnt look 62. I guess I always thought he was younger than he really was.
That's sad. Hate to hear. Dont wish that on anyone.

The Highwaymen looked 80 in 1980.

Must be a testament to Keith. I declare that Cash and Nelson were 20, then turned 65 the necks year.

So Hank had more consistency, making him the better hitter.
Not at all.

Pete Rose had longevity and consistency, put up more Hits than anyone. Doesn’t mean he’s the best hitter.

Emmitt Smith had longevity and consistency, put up more Yards than anyone. Doesn’t mean he’s the best running back.

I’ll take the bullet. Anybody wanna argue lol?

Hank Aaron is an all-time great. An icon of the game.

The reason he doesn’t get talked about as the greatest of all time is because he’s not in the running. He’s not even the greatest player of his era.

But he was awesome. And he was awesome for a long time. Probably a Top20 player all time - and that is a major accomplishment.
We will have to get together for cold beverages someday to discuss in person. I used to feel the same way as you do now.
