I was never a huge baseball fan, but collected cards in the 80's (like every other american kid back then, .) I have a few good ones from him. Also have a few of Orel Hershiser. Surprised people don't talk about him more often.

In 1988 Orel Hershiser had most dominant season , would eventually break Don Drysdale 's consecutive scoreless innings streak..

OH was a freaking machine that year..it was infuriating to watch as a Braves fan...but it was amazing.

That was a negotiation. The labor dispute had already STARTED.

i’m aware…. the negotiations started at the beginning of 1994 which makes it even more ridiculous that they took such a hard line approach in the middle of the season…. It ruined one of the best seasons ever and they had difficulty drawing fans back to the game…. The continue to be idiots by not hyping their stars and chasing down fans that were making highlight videos. Some of our past ADs could have ran MLB as well as those clowns did.

They're falling a lot harder and faster than I thought they would. I'm sure they'll still be above average for at least the next couple of years, but I think they return to what they were pre-Saban a lot sooner than expected.

Barring transfers they have enough talent to be tough the next couple of years.

My father, grandfather, two great -grandfathers, uncles, cousins, etc. were all coal miners. I didn't work in a deep mine like they did, but I worked in a strip mine while going to college. My father was killed in a mining accident. If people make fun of coal miners, I take it personally. They need to find another childish, immature way of entertaining their like-minded friends. If it weren't for miners, we would all be sitting in the dark, freezing our backsides off.

Fehr & Associates matched every clown metric by referencing the previous labor agreement as “grossly unacceptable” and refusing any counteroffer that even leaned in that direction. And after all the mess went too long and the season was cancelled? Sued to basically reimplement the previous labor agreement as the new one…Mensa level stuff!

Most of the 80's cards aren't worth anything.

Most so far are worth about $1.50 avg. A few $3, a couple $8-$10 cards and a mackey sasser rookie around $20 ($16-$30.) Just checked a few (about 25) with the ludex app. I'll check some more later when I have some time.
