I'm not a Kentuckian...I despise the University of Kentucky...and yes there are a vast amount of pure BubbaGumpish type idiots in their fanbase, along with a tone of pure smartass jackasses like Matt Jones..

That being said...I don't understand why people working in coal mines is a joke...it is one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs there is, and the men that do it are some of the hardest working and brave people anywhere, and the men that have one of the relative few mining jobs that are left actually make a pretty good living..so what is funny?

I respect them...rant over.
Agree with this. It’s neither funny nor clever.

Dylan Thomas
1914 –1953

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wait what happened?
You’ll have to read back.

Bottom line: of all the horrible things SEC rival fans say about one another, I just don’t get why “back to the coal mines” is out of bounds.

It’s all supposed to be a little mean, a little impolite, and even a bit tasteless, but none of it is supposed to be taken seriously.

Them coal mines are hard, but not as hard as being Rick Barnes bitch. YW KY

Are you really so worked up that you can't see a joke offered as an olive branch?

And I don't remember arguing with you that much over this.

Also, VN is a big place. Unless it's directed at you, posts may not be to/about you. Feel free to ignore me.

Otherwise, if you consider my series of novels, you'll see that I pointed out that you were right all along and many of us were actually too ignorant to realize it. The Sherman Act DOES make provisions for public good/need, like you were articulating. You and many people want an amateur college sports.

It's a real argument and many of us were too ignorant to see it as valid.

(From my reading, it doesn't look like the SCOTUS will allow NCAA to claim that exemption, but you were right. That class of exemption exists in the law.)

Now, feel free to ignore my posts, as I'm rarely thinking of you when I write them. Or feel free to bitch about them when they work you up for some reason. Whatever gives you the most peace.
Ok..I am not going to ignore you, but it sure looked like you were picking a fight with that Python bit, and maybe you got mixed up in this years long argument I've had with Devo over this and I conjoined that aggravation in my mind.

Either way...there is no point arguing now...my side lost. I hope we can compete on the field with the schools that have super rich fanbases willing to spend ungodly amounts on football players...because we obviously don't and are not.

I hope the fanbase realizes our staff is almost always going to finding players from lower down in the pecking order and cuts them.some slack when there are thin spots and holes in the roster.

For anyone that needs it. I know I struggle with judgement.

February 5, 2024: Examine yourself to see if you have failed to repent for being unkind, judgmental, or deceptive. And, forgive those who have come against you in any way. It is time to clear the slate so that nothing can prevent you from receiving the highest and best that I offer you, says the Lord. Luke 6:37-38 Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

No worries.

So, this is a HUGE story and I've posted quite a few of my opinions on it. I just really wanted to understand better, so read the opinion on the previous case. It's fascinating, and the NCAA's latest response makes a lot more sense. There's the smallest, palest of gray areas for the NCAA, and they are living there.

The same people y’all are defending will mock Tennessee fans for being incestuous toothless hillbillies.

Yeah, it’s fanbases ribbing each other. You’re not supposed to take it that seriously.
Then pick on them for being inbred toothless hillbillies..I still don't get the coal miner joke...it's dumb.

I didn't say it was out of bounds...I said was f'n stupid.

Maybe I misread your posts, but it felt to me like you and EV were taking offense to it. My bad if I’m wrong.

But either way, I still think you are both taking it too seriously.

For the record, I’ve been to Louisiana multiple times, and I don’t remember ever thinking anyone smelled like a corn dog. Nevertheless, I thought the post that spawned the corn dog meme for LSU fans was hilarious.
