I’ve never got a like from Neyland Rising before. I consider myself a reasonable poster and I want to know why I haven’t. @Neyland Rising, “If you prick us do we not bleed”?
He may be kidnapped in someone's basement, and only has time to occasionally give out likes!

*Hope everything is good with you

Literally Back to the Coal Mines

The meltdown on Facebook from my family and friends back in Kentucky is hilarious. It's mostly wanting to fire Cal, but a few are done they say. This, after swearing they'd never lose again when their big z got cleared 🤣

lmao. Where was the tampering last year when Saban was trying to get Maye to leave UNC? Where was the tampering when Cam Ward said Bama was one of the five schools to reach out to him before he entered the portal? Maybe now that Saban is gone, Bama's NCAA protection is too? They were never going to go after Saban, no matter how much he cheated. He was protected. Same as Kirby. Georgia is protected as long as Smart is HC.
Cat's away mice will play.

You wish. ;)

The SCOTUS opinion found that NCAA is a monopsony (absolute control of the buyer's market), and thus has absolute power to constrain the salary market:

Here's what's interesting. The NCAA is claiming now in district court that the states have not produced a victim of their rules, however, the previous district court defined the victims, and the SCOTUS upheld that logic:
Screw off..you've got what you wanted...so leave it alone.

I'm not a Kentuckian...I despise the University of Kentucky...and yes there are a vast amount of pure BubbaGumpish type idiots in their fanbase, along with a ton of pure smartass jackasses like Matt Jones..

That being said...I don't understand why people working in coal mines is a joke...it is one of the most difficult and dangerous jobs there is, and the men that do it are some of the hardest working and brave people anywhere, and the men that have one of the relative few mining jobs that are left actually make a pretty good living..so what is funny?

I respect them...rant over.

Edit...I also want to add, they all got totally f'd over and betrayed by the ones they have been faithful to forever thanks to the Unions. It is absolutely sickening what happened to tens of thousands of good, hard working people up here since 2008.

Yep...they are all on the tar and feather Cal mob around here today...lol.

If he doesn't make a deep run in the tourney...his seat is going to be hotter than Hades.

It's insane how much talent that team has..

I agree, my dad, and many relatives, made their living that way. I lost two uncles, was dating a girl who's dad died, and almost lost mine to the mines. It's a very dangerous job, not to mention dirty and wet. I've seen my dad many days come home black as coal and soaking wet, and lay down in front of the fireplace to dry off and fall asleep from exhaustion. I'll always pick at them over sports, but I'll be the first to say that's a tougher job than I have. They're tough, my Dad is 73, and he still out works most people I know, including me.

Are you really trying to pick a fight with me?..screw off and leave it...you got what you've wanted.

I told you yesterday I was done arguing the stupid 🦬💩 either you and Devo...now leave me the hell alone about this topic.
Are you really so worked up that you can't see a joke offered as an olive branch?

And I don't remember arguing with you that much over this.

Also, VN is a big place. Unless it's directed at you, posts may not be to/about you. Feel free to ignore me.

Otherwise, if you consider my series of novels, you'll see that I pointed out that you were right all along and many of us were actually too ignorant to realize it. The Sherman Act DOES make provisions for public good/need, like you were articulating. You and many people want an amateur college sports.

It's a real argument and many of us were too ignorant to see it as valid.

(From my reading, it doesn't look like the SCOTUS will allow NCAA to claim that exemption, but you were right. That class of exemption exists in the law.)

Now, feel free to ignore my posts, as I'm rarely thinking of you when I write them. Or feel free to bitch about them when they work you up for some reason. Whatever gives you the most peace.

My best friend texted me complaining today, and I agree with him. Cal should have multiple titles at Kentucky.

I think you give them too much credit…. They are one worst run professional leagues….. They were weak and failed miserably against the players union. They were, however, willing to shut down a great pennant race in 1994 to try to save a little bit of money. Surely, they could have done the same for the “integrity” of the game. They lost a lot of fans that year and there is rampant speculation that MLB allowed steriods to be encouraged to bring back fans to the game… At the very least they highlighted the steroid use to increase ratings and popularity.

The party was over when congress got involved and the drug testing helped MLB try to save face. They were able to claim that the evil players union wouldn’t allow testing. MLB knew exactly want was going on during that time.
Lot of theories. I don’t consider them angels, but moreso borne from their forebears who greedily ruled the game when it was THE league. They repressed the players and locked them to franchises with no chance of movement before the union formed and grew ever powerful each decade. Conversely you seem to be an apologist for them when they went on a one sided winning streak that had them asking for concessions to sign of on controlled substance testing. The union (especially under Don Fehr) became arrogant and even greedier than the owners with a short sighted delusion of power. They strongly fought against ANY testing of PEDS because if the owners were aware, the union was downright complicit. Not privy to their communications, but they obviously didn’t prepare the players for the one time testing that allowed the current program to be implemented then advanced. It’s easy to blame it ALL on the “evil owners” but one side advocated for detection and that side DID NOT represent the players.
