Dude...just drop it already. You asked me to name some and I gave you the list from Rivals itself. You're the one who got on my jock for giving my opinion. I don't need yours or anyone else's permission to do so.
I didn't say there were no good QB's left, just making the point that the TOP-TIER guys are largely committed already. I gave you proof and we can sit here and debate all day whether it's enough, but I'm not going to. If you want to just keep an argument going for the entertainment of it, go ahead...but I'm done with it.

They're not "dropping like flies". Deal with it. You act like the sky is falling and that's the only reason everyone thinks you're over reacting. Go look at those "top 5" later in the year and we'll see. Most importantly - how many of the guys we were/are actually in on (and had a serious chance) have committed? Because that's the most important fact.

I believe that most of the Rivals 250 QBs and even the Top 10 Pro-Style QBs will be committed by August/September.

You don't like the phrase I used, you deal with it. I backed up my statement. We're not after average joe's. If we were, Kiffin would've never told Boyd he didn't "fit his system."
I expressed the opinion that if we are going to land a Heaps or Scroggins...THEY had better act with some urgency, if they are truly interested cause that train is about to leave the station. QB's of their calibur are generally committed by now. The longer they wait (now that Marve has supposedly come on board), the more likely a LESSER prospect will step up and take the last one remaining.
That's just reality. Why are you trying to argue over this point? You want the best available guy...so do I.
But I just wish the best available would realize there's a few 3*'s we offered that probably value the the scholarship/roster spot more than they do, and they aren't going to wait for them to decide.

Why is that worth arguing over? If you just feel like keeping things stirred up, why not visit a gator board to get your kicks?

I used to have this dog and one of his toys was a piece of rope. He loved to play with that rope. Whenever I picked it up though, he would latch on and NOT let go. I think I could have walked around the block with him in tow. The only way I could get him to let go was to let go of it myself. Some of the conversations around here remind me of that rope and that dog.....

Soooo, is Newton coming or not??

Nothing is in stone.

July/August would be the time frame when we should know who is all going to be here as far as QB's, barring a last minute change that is.
With Marve supposedly being a done deal, it changes things drastically. I'm thinking that Hendrix pledges this week or the next, if Scroggins, Heaps or Newton doesn't beat him to it.

I was hoping we'd get at least Scroggins or Newton as the 2nd commit

The train will not leave the station if Heaps and Scroggins want on later - unless one of them commits to us of course. QB's of their caliber are not generally committed by now. They generally commit soon or in the next coming couple of months. It's not like they all commit at the first moment possible.

The staff will tell the guys when it's time if they want to commit. That's why I gave the time frame I did.

I think we will have a QB by mid June.

Marve will probably be the only one at that point, if everything works out. The only QB that seems to have a n itchy trigger finger is Heaps, and I don't see him coming here. Everything I have read seems to make all the QB's wanting to commit later in the summer.

Well if Heaps commits to Wash that should clear Scroggins up. He said us and Washington are the ones going after him the hardest. If UW gets Heaps, that should put us out on top. FWIW, he would be stupid to go to USC. Barkley and Corp have that position under raps for a long time.

Newton would bring toughness and skill to their team, which is missing because of lackluster recruiting by former Tennessee head coach Phil Fulmer.

WTF is this?
