The Media played a BIG role in getting Bama in as well. Every outlet was pushing Bama. If I was FSU, when ESPN called for Interview, I’d “Politely” tell them to kick rocks
100%, ESPN benefits the most. They control the media rights to Tx and Bama, they are going to profit hugely.

It's not corruption, you all are being millennial level sensationalists.

Bama will draw more ratings, a competitive game will draw more ratings. And fsu couldn't beat anyone in the top ten right now. I disagree with the decision because I value regular season resume more than the committee obviously does, but prioritizing a competitive team over one that is a totally different team today than it was during the season due to a star qb being out isn't corruption.
whatever you want to call it..idgas.

Sure, whatever. My point: If this is all about finding “best team”, you won’t be able to convince me that the best team is ranked any lower than 6 or 7. 12 teams is too much. It simply says, this is all about the money. More viewers, more tweets, more money.
So what? If they're not the best team, they'll get eliminated early. More teams means we never have to have this stupid discussion we're having now as to whether or not the best team got left out.

Unpopular opinion: while I don't believe it was the right thing to leave FSU out, I'm glad the playoff will be more competitive. Michigan would have won by 50 against FSU without their qb, and now the cheater Harbaugh doesn't get a free warmup game on his way to the final.
And just not true. They have the best DL in the country and a top five defense. Going against a pro style offense, they would have eaten that up. It would have been a 10-9 game.

Now Bama is going to steam roll them because you can’t beat them with that style of offense.

Absolutely not. FSU wouldn't score. It would be just like the Iowa game.

Manipulating the just result to get the most profitable result; maybe that’s not textbook “corruption,” but it’s close enough.

Justice has nothing to do with this. They've always stated they want to put the 4 best teams in. I prefer the regular season to matter more, but that doesn't mean that's the just way to do it. Their preference is to try to identify who the top 4 teams today are. I disagree, but that's not justice or lack of.

Ok boomer

Need Bijan to not screw me. He’s the last one I need to score.

Henry and Hill already got what they needed in the first quarter

That’s naive. It just means that some team that was ranked 13th but beat two of the top 10 teams will be crying all the same. Someone will be 9-3 or 8-4 with wins over say bama and uga but losses to say Arkansas and lsu and get left out and this same bs will continue to be repeated each year. Because 12 teams isn’t about finding the best team, it’s about extending the season in order to maximize viewership and profits, because more people will watch these ny6 bowl games if they could lead to a national championship.

Then what do you do with a team that is missing starters the first 2 weeks of the season and loses games, but then they come back and steamroll everyone the rest of the season? Do you put them in a 4-team playoff with 2 loses over undefeated teams because now they are clearly the better team?

You just said it yourself. There's no way the best teams will be outside the top 12. So no, nobody can make an argument they're one of the best teams if they're outside the top 12. Problem solved. Anyone not in the top 12 has zero argument for saying they deserve to be in the playoff.

Personally? No. But if the committee is trying to identify the current 4 best teams, maybe they would do that. They've never promised they'd do anything different than that.
