Still not sure why everyone is talking about FSU. History tells us that TX will get screwed because they can more easily mental gymnastics the justification. (Bla, bla, bla, BS, BS, BS…Bama, because…)
Let’s be honest. Since Joe Tessitore found out that there are actually two entirely different Alabama teams out there (the one that lost to Texas and then the other one), the committee will probably find a way to put both of them in the playoff so they don’t have to pick between screwing Texas or FSU. It’s the obvious solution, really. Texas and FSU both get left out, put Mich/Wash in one semifinal and the two Bama teams in the other semifinal, and… we’ll just see which Bama team shows up in the championship game.

Please say a little prayer for our old girl Charlotte, pictured left. We fear she has gone completely blind, lost sight in one eye last year due to injury. I've been running myself ragged working two jobs and spending what time I can making her a safe place in a run in barn I've turned into a large stall for her.

We have a vet coming at a little after 1 today to see her again and tell us if this is permanent or not........ And to make quality of life determinations for this old girl. She's approximately 34+ years old at this point. She still seems eager to eat and horses generally do deal with blindness in many cases...

In any event if you can say a little prayer for our old girl today.....

Also I want to point out the mental gymnastics of which metrics determine which team is better…so is the eye test, is it how much more they win by, is it the historical RECRUITING ranking (p.s. this is what skews everyone’s brains).
I really want to know what metric determines that Bama is better than FSU? The supposed “better” team every week. Look at Oregon. I was told they were the “better” team vs Washington all season. So are they still the “better” team based on the arbitrary metrics even though they lost both games? Technically they are still the same team, so what makes them no longer better than Washington?
According to the committee bylaws, they don’t use the “eye test”. The only thing that would’ve given them slight pause is Jordan Travis being hurt. Even still, based on their bylaws FSU would still be in.

NFL lines today seem very scary. Vegas has an axe to grind with so many favorites winning last week I think

Y’all really think the committee cares about TX’s head to head game vs Bama. That’s easy to mental gymnastics around, they have done it before. It’s much harder to leave out an undefeated conference champion. You can reference harder schedule all you want but I don’t think they have the balls to actually jump an undefeated team. That leave TX because they have a loss and they will just say losses are less important than wins and that Bama has a more impressive win and completely glaze over the head to head.

Go ahead, ask me how I know? It’s because it’s verbatim what they said last year.

Yes they care as it’s in their bylaws lol

depending on how many SEC teams are in the NY6, we are trending Gator most likely, Outback next, with outside possibility of Citrus
Ole miss, LSU and Missouri ahead of us in pecking orde. We're going to the gator or music city

If anything, it should be a reminder to keep their hands off of it completely, and it will work itself out for the best of all involved.

Unfortunately, I think they will take the wrong lesson from this though, like you said.
Completely agree. He also should’ve protected UGA in the SEC ship game if he wanted to guarantee the SEC gets in the playoff.

The selection show is 2 hours long.

Does anyone remember how far into the show before they make the actual announcement? Is it like 30 mins in or 1 hour in?
A lot of hot air has to be expelled in order to justify the load of BS that is likely to be the end result of the CFP selection process. That takes time.

Ok, well problem solved, if they follow their bylaws, Bama gets left out LOL.

So what are we taking about?
I don’t care one way or the other but they’ve never been faced with this scenario lol. But if they go off their bylaws, which is what they’ll likely do, Bama and UGA gets left out.

This is the year the expanded playoff would’ve been implemented if the ACC, PAC-12, Big 10 commissioners wouldn’t have voted against it originally. The vote had to be a unanimous decision but those 3 held it up. You wouldn’t have had this commotion.

You had me until that last statement. ACC 3 and 4 - NC St., GT, Big 12 - Oklahoma and WVU, Big 10 PSU and Iowa, PAC 12, Arizona and OSU. I think some of these teams could beat them. No way they get boat-raced. I still believe the SEC is down, though.
I “may” have taken that a tad too far……but not way too far;)

I’m still back 10 pages reading all the logic to keep the SEC out of the CFP’s and I agree with it all, but the SEC will have representation. The question is who is going to get screwed.

Everyone wants to overthink it.

Michigan (undefeated conf. champ)
Washington (undefeated conf. champ)
Florida State (undefeated conf. champ)
Texas (1 loss conf. champ with H2H win over other conf. champ).

First out: Alabama (1 loss conf. champ with H2H loss to other conf. champ), Georgia (1 loss non-champ), Ohio State (1 loss non-champ), Oregon (2 loss non-champ).

It kinda sucks because it's going to push us to a lower bowl but this is how it should be done, and honestly it's pretty straightforward. Yes, FSU looked terrible but they won. Their defense is championship caliber. They'll get their backup back for the playoff so the offense should be improved.
