The offense that scored 92 points on the road in one of the toughest places to play? It's not the offense that was the problem.Hire someone who runs an offense from this century.
You have more faith than I do. Imo, this team's ceilingNo. Seen it too many times. We basically lost our chance at a 1 seed already. This teams ceiling is sweet 16. But some of y'all are happy with that....
We were a basket or two from an Elite Eight appearance just a year or so before Rick.I haven't forgotten how bad we were before Barnes
his brother probably - the one that was UFs coachYou are crazy if you want to rely on the the Tennessee AD to replace Barnes on a whim. The importance of that hire already stresses me out considering our history and it is years away. Surely the days of us cheaping out on an up and comer are over right?
It will be Danny White's biggest test.
What is not unfathomable is this, buddy:It's almost unfathomable to consider, but '23-'24 is going to end up being Rick's worst Tennessee team yet. I know, I know, we're only 7 games in & college basketball is a long season. But, what I witnessed tonight shook me to my core. I'm struggling to recall a UT team in ANY sport display the kind of sorry as* effort we witnessed tonight.
With one of the most experienced, veteran-laden teams in the country, that's just a tad bit alarming. Now, without Knecht, it'll be unwatchable. This would be a two win team right now without him. Anyone confident that we'll now be relying on Gainey & Josiah to create the offense moving forward? Lol.
After a 14-15 win type of year that's coming, Rick will finally ride off into the sunset, & Justin Gainey will be UT's next coach. I'm actually really excited about Gainey, I think he'll breathe some fresh energy into the program & move our offense into the 21st century. I hate being a Vols fan. Football program is back to reality & a complete afterthought again, & the basketball program is somehow even worse, when everyone expected greatness from it this year. Hopefully, Tony gets the baseball boys back to Omaha this summer..
We went to overtime against Purdue in sweet 16 2019 with Barnes. Again proving my point that coaches before Barnes had ceilings that were no better than Barnes. The only difference is Barnes hits that same ceiling every year. You have more faith than I do. Imo, this team's ceiling

Oh the classic “who ya gonna get” argument. Any number of promising coaches who don’t coach the offense out of players.
I hate our fanbase. Y’all chased off Fulmer and we’re still a joke because of it. I went to Tennessee for football, but let it be known to all kids who are looking at Tennessee from other states—our fanbase is toxic and fires competitive coaches and then puts our team into the dungeon. It's almost unfathomable to consider, but '23-'24 is going to end up being Rick's worst Tennessee team yet. The funniest part about this is I’m almost certain Gainey is pretty much a “defense coordinator” and this guy is excited about him breathing fresh air into our offense haha…not surprising though. It's almost unfathomable to consider, but '23-'24 is going to end up being Rick's worst Tennessee team yet.
