We’ve been on the other side of that. Duke’s not had the luxury of having a hot name as football HC since Steve Spurrier.
I understand. I have nothing against Elko. I should have said that in my post.

It was thinking about the players around the TV late at night watching him at TAMU when the last thing they'd heard was that it was 50/50 that made me sympathize with what it must have been like.

I don't mind if the KY players and fans are pissed at Stoops, though. 😂

Oh I dont have a clue. My point, obviously was to illustrate that we could celebrate a winning season. And, to point out our winning record historically matches nearly perfectly with our 23 record. Not sure what else there is.
Yeah fair and I basically agree with you both. I think 8-4 was solid, I thought 9-3 before the year. Happy we got to 8 with chance to win 9 with bowl.

But also, saying we have only won 10 however many times since 1973 isn’t really accurate when the 12 game schedule didn’t start until 2006 (I had to look this up because I was curious.)

Carolina Panthers...fire HC Frank Reich ...
11 games into his first season...👀👀
Just another example of a HC getting a QB forced on him that he didn’t want, and instead wanted to draft a different QB, and then getting fired for not being able to win with the QB that was forced on him.

Not UGA. Before divisions, that matchup was way more infrequent iirc. But divisional play has been around for DECADES…so nm. 😏
Have you ever considered that if the divisions were to be maintained, Bama and Auburn would have moved to the Eastern Division unless Sankey pulled some sort of anti-geographic gerrymandering?

That would have resulting in Bama playing Georgia every year and vice versa. It would not have affected Tennessee or Auburn.

I think winning double digits is/was impressive then, and is now. And is always the goal, and then some.

Would this not be a 'glass half full, glass half empty' debate?

We gained 28 votes.

Other teams gained more...by beating teams not named Vandy. Not that surprising and I blame Vandy for not changing their name.
Really, if you look at the bottom 8 or so, it's not plausible to me that we are not better.

I think it likely was the campaigning.

Wait... how could all the team gain votes? To you mean "received" votes? You don't mean "gained" compared to last week's ballot, surely. Let's just end up somewhere decent in tomorrow's CFP.

What's the problem with playing them every year ??.
They are the measuring stick in SEC rite now...

Would you prefer seeing Tennessee playing South Carolina and Missouri every year.....?
