Yeah, anyone that even suggests moving on from Huepel is out of their mind at this point. I think last season actually showed us what the norm could be under him. This year is likely aberration when it comes to QB play under Huepel.Well my very strong opinion is that if we move on from Heupel now because he’s just an “8-win coach” we will take three or four more hires before we get another coach who can consistently win us 8 or more games per year.
Relevance by 2030!
You can’t convince me otherwise.
There is so much evidence to support my position in Tennessee’s recent history and at other big name schools with storied histories.
Do you really not see what was happening?...how can you be that blind? You have to be purposefully burying your head in the sand.it is, 100%
I really think it's something systemic. Maybe travel in a day earlier? Figure out how to replicate your home routine on the road? I've never seen a more stark difference in a team at home vs on the road in football. Even last year with better players, we looked like a different team on the road. These are the type posts I come to this board/forum to read and comment on, not all that high school name calling and picking at other posters. I don't think we are tough enough to handle the road well yet. This roster seems to have too many betas who react instead of acting. You have to enforce your will on opponents. If the arena causes you to get shaky, you are not ready to do battle. Last years roster had more alphas who graduated, some are in the NFL now.
I feel like it has more to do with the coaches and could have to do with the spotters up in the booth.I really think it's something systemic. Maybe travel in a day earlier? I agree, precisely how they won. Give your young back-up QB a shot to learn as he goes and have the O's back. Win as a team. That is what we have not had yet. I do not blame Heup. I have said all along I give him 4 years past the NCAA resolution. But that means coaching changes with methods, culture and hiring.Yep. I was impressed by FSU last night. They didn’t flinch with bad calls early or bad QB play. Defense stepped up and dominated after the first quarter in a harsh environment. Not easy to play at night in the swamp. Have to tune it out and go all out.
I think Elko is a good hire for them. He was a good DC for TAMU and has a lot of familiarity with the program. He also helped to recruit a lot of their defensive studs. Much better hire than Stoops IMO.I find it hilarious that Mark Stoops was somehow such a bad hire it got vetoed, but then they went and hired maybe the ACC version of him?
He literally admitted to doing exactly that on purpose a few months ago...that is why I don't understand why he is allowed to continue.Find ways to say what you mean without being so inflammatory. You enjoy the attention and reaction you get. That's why you post the way you do. Feigning outrage is disingenuous on your part.
It's really not though, I want to see TN win a championship, anything short is a bust, and seeing people celebrate wins over schools who have no shot at a title while Bama, UGA etc.... whip our ass just irritates me.Find ways to say what you mean without being so inflammatory. I want to see fight within the rules, not the idgit penalties and stupid stuff. This year I see it in the D-line and that's it. It's hard to get that team culture when there are divided loyalties and show ponies playing.
