It totally is and was the difference in both matchups.
I mean... nobody can tell me having Olivier or Uros on the court today or yesterday wouldn't have made a difference. And they aren't even dominant bigs. Uros would've been best for Edey but Olivier would've been a better matchup against Dickinson and would've really frustrated him.

I think Olivier would've given us at least another 10pts and 8reb, and reduced Dickinson's output by a few points and rebounds.

If he can play defense like he did today, you can't afford for him to not be on the court.

Look, defense isn't sexy. However, he was the main reason the game was remotely as close as it was. Haris Jr has carved up multiple teams with triple doubles thus far this year for Kansas. Today, due to ZZ, he was a non-factor.
Yes and no. After this week, or at least after UNC, it might be time to give him more minutes off. It's still so early. You have to protect that knee for when more is on the line.

i think biggest frustration, is hesring this team is different. finally have a scorer, found a shooter. yes its early. but team looks a lot like same flat offensive teams of last couple years.

Jonas is an adequate big man...who can give you 10/10 every night....but he will never be a dominate big man who other teams fear...

If he played better on offense, not a soul on this thread would be remotely worried about his knee.

If his knee was a problem, he wouldn't have been capable of his outstanding defensive performance vs Harris Jr.

I didn't have a single negative word to say about him. I just meant in general it's a marathon not a sprint. Barnes will know what to do. I certainly don't. I wouldn't be surprised either way. He did an outstanding job on defense! He's a gamer.

Bobby Maze is still pissed off over ,Bruce Pearl getting caught having cook outs with recruits....
I'm still pissed Bruce was dumb enough to lie. He knew the kinda sport he was in, what he'd done in the past, and what others were willing to do to get even and he handed them his own head on a silver platter.

Of course Harbaugh did the same thing and also lied about it. It's so far down the list of Harbaugh's infractions, along with covid violations, that the "news" stories don't even mention it.

Not to say I didn't note your qualifications in Bruce's case. Just wanted to point this out.

You need him to be able to play defense like he did today…in February and March. We’ll do fine if they ease him back. I don’t think he’s ready for 20+ minutes a game.

I would be! That’s why I posted!

For whatever the reason ---

Football- high expectations (right out of the gate) that were met and ended with Meh and disappointing returns on the season.

Basketball- high expectations (right out of the gate) that seem to be mirroring football already this early in the season. Long way to go here and I still think we will continue to improve, but if we just showed up and were able to shoot just a little more consistent, we'd be playing Marquette in the championship game right now.

Funny and weird--- both sport's issues come down to offense/scoring.

I mean it’s losses to No. 1 and No. 2.

We sucked at shooting but we’re still in the games. I’m not completely discouraged. It’s basically the same exact team as last year with more offensive potential, and for some reason, worse defense. Maybe that’s the sacrifice Barnes thought he would make with the game plan, Plenty of time to get right. We have no idea how the season will unfold. But not seeing why they anointed this team as a title contender. Tourney is a crapshoot anyway for every team except 2 to 4 surefire contenders.
It just seems like we never shoot well in Hawaii . Doesn't matter poor shooting will beat you unless the other team joins the parade . 😕

It’s just my opinion, but I believe we are better offensively. We just played 2 elite teams who are top 5 in KenPom defensively. Knecht will finish better than he did today.

So, again, our opponent had 2.5x opportunities at the line. We needed to shoot better, but it came down to free throw opportunities. They were miserable from the line. If the FT chances were even we win.

Bobby Maze calling out someone else missing shots is comical.

*B-Maze missed his fair share of wide open 3s when he was here.
And classes.... I'm sorry that was Tony Harris and Vincent Yarborough...during the Jerry Green regime...

Check this out and the channel itself if you're interested in what other schools have as recruiting tools that teams enjoy every day. Here's an example:, but maybe check out UT's and compare to other football programs (link):

Inside the TEXAS A&M AGGIES' $485,000,000 FOOTBALL Facility | Royal Key

The above channel on youtube has other football programs facility tours.

Rather than anyone call for a coaches head, maybe evaluate what the school and the athletic director need to provide a good coach and THEN contemplate how UT or any school compares to each other based on geography, coaches, facilities etc to get Volnation to think beyond "just replacing" the coach.
