We hired a guy who turned a 13-0 program into a 6-4 program in three seasons because we were desperate and his former boss couldn't convince anyone else to come here. We caught lighting in a bottle with Hendon, a QB our own head coach chose not to start over Joe in 2022. Last year was more likely than not the high water mark of the CJH era and we're stuck with this guy for another five or six seasons because of his contract. Get ready to be good again in 2031ish...maybe.

Sounds about right. If we run the ball well and stick true to the run, we will be fine. Joe plays okay as long as the run game is working and the competition isn’t all that great. I don’t have much confidence in this team right now, though. I foresee next week being a tough game. I think we win, but it won’t be the blowout most of us would have predicted a couple of weeks ago.
Serious question, has Joe had a good game against any team that was worth a dang?

We only beat A&M because our defense played lights out. I don’t think he has played good against a single good team this year.

What does this mean?

We go no better than 9-4 for 15 years! (In fact, only two times in that period). Hire a new coach and he goes 11-2 in year two and after probably 9-4 in year three, we start complaining. Makes total sense.
The complaints are the same defense that cost us playoffs in year 2 which is Kirby level good. And the qb play that we all knew wouldn’t be good enough. It’s the way we continue to struggle and not fix the same problems.

I feel just fine. I find it quite funny and entertaining when our own “fans” that post here, acting like they know things, can’t even spell our HC name correctly.
Hey, I'm still practicing on spelling his last name.

There is only one way to fix it….. keep building the roster.

The roster isn’t the problem on defense. I’ll buy the offensive side is roster only because of last year. But defense is not a roster problem it’s a coaching problem. Mainly Willie Martinez who already got fired from here once for not being able to stop the pass.

Butch's
expected peak/inflection season:
2016, went 8-4

Pruitt's
expected peak/inflection season:
2020, went 3-7

Heupel's
expected peak/inflection season:
Tbd in 2024, but already won 11 & going 8-4 in a rebuild season, exceeding or matching all 3 coaches's peak seasons 🤣😅
2022 was lightning in a bottle. By the way this season has concluded bet we don’t sniff that record again for quite awhile. We beat no one with a pulse this year and were not competitive from start to finish against any ranked opponents and got worse as the season went on. Spin it however you want to justify it for yourself but Year 3 was a disappointment given the lack of talent in our opponents aside from Bama and UGA (which both of them are/were honestly beatable).
