Atlanta is meaningless now. Maybe even punitive. This, when are we going to quit making excuses?
2 years to get to Atlanta or it's time to move on, at some point you have to set expectations.
Nope, like I said last week, making the playoffs isnt impressive to me unless you end up in the final 4, you can go 10-2 or even 9-3 and get in there.Atlanta is meaningless now. Maybe even punitive.
You go make the playoffs. It's doable.
We'll make it one of the next 2 years, maybe both. But I'd bet it all at least once.
You mean Slaughters interception? What happens if the refs don't throw a holding flag on McCollough's interception? Do we score? The crowd was electric at that point. Could Wright have busted another long run?
That flag, like most calls against us this season, was a game changer.
I hope the SEC is satisfied with the "punishment" they've dished out this season. The team and the fans have been screwed over by our conference. I hope Sankey is proud of what he's built. Jerk
Agreed. I don’t mean this to move goal posts, but I do think that’s part of the problem though. We cannot compete on the road against a team with a pulse. Under current circumstances, mark us down for 2 auto road losses against SEC teams that don’t suck ass. That’s something that has to change if we want the ceiling of our team to raise. Can’t included it’s. If we got Florida at home (before the team gave up on Milton) we could have won as well.
What was really expected? A better bowl?I get it. The last two weekends of football have been awful for me. I'm a UT fan #1 and I'm still upset from the Missouri game. Today went as I expected because I faced reality after last week.
To add to this I'm a Bengals fan and they were awful last Sunday and the season ended on Thursday.
lol Joe will struggle and Nico will barely play.
I know your point, but it’s insulting to even Vanderbilt to have you baseline be those 3 coaches.Dooley's expected peak/inflection season:
2012, went 5-7
Butch's expected peak/inflection season:
2016, went 8-4
Pruitt's expected peak/inflection season:
2020, went 3-7
Heupel's expected peak/inflection season:
Tbd in 2024, but already won 11 & going 8-4 in a rebuild season, exceeding or matching all 3 coaches's peak seasons![]()
ByeWe hired a guy who turned a 13-0 program into a 6-4 program in three seasons because we were desperate and his former boss couldn't convince anyone else to come here. We caught lighting in a bottle with Hendon, a QB our own head coach chose not to start over Joe in 2022. Last year was more likely than not the high water mark of the CJH era and we're stuck with this guy for another five or six seasons because of his contract. Get ready to be good again in 2031ish...maybe.
