Watch,, it!! Health, exercise etc.

How accurate this watch is on sleep details, stress, vo2 max and hrv I'm not sure, but Im confident in the trends. I don't feel "right" and the watch shows it.

I'll be fine, I just thought I'd let you know if you're numbers were still off, you weren't alone.

I've wondered how things were going with you dealing with everything. Sounds like you're doing the best you can. Spending time with your dad I would imagine is bittersweet, but more "sweet" than "bitter". I don't know if not having any family here when my mom passed was a blessing or made it harder. Is what it is though. We all do what we have to.

I also wondered how the dog is doing. What's her name?

@volfanbill

Just thought I'd let you know, if your numbers are still all wacked don't feel alone.

It's really weird. I think it (the watch) knows something. Lol. I don't feel great and the numbers show it. My average sleep score went from 81 to 47 in the the last 2 months. Mostly due to stress. That's where it's weird.

My stress numbers went from 15 and below to 38 to 55 ....at night. For several weeks now I get hardly any rest (blue) at night. I think I might have Covid just not a bad case of it.??!!?? Idk.

This is was last night and pretty much what its looked like every day for a month. Anyway, hope you're doing better.

I stopped wearing the Samsung. It was really close in some ways, but not close enough in those ways, and way off on the rest.

Is your stress measured during games?

Something better than a fitbit
My suggestion is to decide what you really want it for, what's most important.

I mean there are a gazillion options out there now and they come in different shapes and sizes. Some work with iOS only some android only and some both. Samsung will work with an Apple phone but not all functions. I wouldn't want one if everything didn't work.

I only have android. Don't really know what they are capable of.

I realistically need to monitor my heart rate. Anything else healthwise is a plus. Steps and route are a given.

Not taken any way other than honest question.

If you want one that's geared more towards sports tracking then the Garmin is the best choice imo.

I've done enough research on them all that I feel pretty confident in my opinion too. Garmin, Samsung and Apple are the best 3 and all 3 have something better than the other 2. Only reason I don't suggest the Apple is because it's more expensive, but more than that is it will only work correctly with an Apple phone.

Samsung is an excellent Smart watch that is really good at sports tracking. Garmin is a GPS system with detailed sports tracking and analysis, that has a few smart watch functions.

They both are round which I like better for me, and they come in different sizes. The Garmin comes in several styles as well.

several different levels to the forerunner too @82_VOL_83 . The 55 and the 265 will hit the mark you're looking for and then some. Don't have to go crazy with the 965 like Behr and I did unless you really want almost everything imaginable.

I wrote this out yesterday and something with my parent's slow satellite internet messed everything up and it never sent.

I'm doing ok. Finished up helping set my dad up to handle all the bills and whatnot. Got all of my mom's insurance plans and whatnot cancelled yesterday. With help from the funeral home, got the claim completed on her life insurance for him. Been such a long ten days. I'm off til next Wednesday. I was supposed to be at a wedding in Oregon Sunday, but missed it obviously. Work has been great, and let me take last week off plus keep my original time off I had scheduled. With a little luck, I'll be in Tennessee this weekend. My parents' moved to VA the year before I enlisted. I never lived in VA and don't consider it home. I'm looking forward to going home and seeing friends and other family. I know most the people that came to see dad/us, but I'm not close like he is to his current church family and the friends he has around where they live. My mom was a general manager of a Bojangles, and the workers there were so loving and present during all this too. But, again, I just know who those people are. I'm looking forward to seeing my people if that makes sense.

I'll try to be around here more, but as I mentioned before, there's just people here that make coming here not worth it anymore for me. I should be able to look past them, but I too often can't. Thanks for checking in, I greatly appreciate that friend. Just ask for continued prayers for my family, and myself. As all this sets in, I think it will get tougher before it gets better. Sorry if some of this is repeated from yesterday.

Trudy is the dog. She's doing better. Getting more playful, but still knows mom is gone. I think her and dad will become even closer, although I honestly didn't know it was possible. IMG_1138.JPG

I would have been fine with the 255 or 265 if they came in the 47mm. I wish they'd make a 48. That would be perfect.

My perfect watch would be the Samsung with the Garmin GPS, Sleep and everything sports in a 48mm case and 1.6 display. Lol.

That's crazy the dogs name is Trudy. If you've been in the Culinary thread and read the post by J-P you'd understand. Lol .

Well, again it's good to hear things seem to at least be heading in the "normal" direction.

What is said info? Gordo and I know some of the people (his family), but I’ve never met him that I know of

Hey @volfanbill , ya I was checking obits locally, buddy. I was going to come to the visitation if there was one in this area, and I mentioned it to 8283. I never saw one, though, and I hadn't told him otherwise.

Continued prayers for you and your family.

I do think I recognize your dad from somewhere. Was he active in any Ruritan or Civitan clubs in the area?

Edit: I ask that last question because when I was younger, I used to work with the FT Ruritan. I thought maybe I knew him from the Appy Fair or something.

They did the service in VA. Most of our JC family came up for it. We discussed putting an obit in the JC Press, but opted to just share the local (to them) funeral home's obituary over social media.

Dad wasn't active with Ruritan or Civitan, but he was well known in the area due to his job at the Johnson City Power Board (now BrightRidge or whatever). Perhaps that's how you recognize him?

Does the Garmin alert you for text or phone calls?
