Given that the two of you and Behr’s parroting cowardly idiot are the three who aver that Covid is a political topic, why don’t you retreat to the appropriate PF thread to belittle those of us who see covid as a health threat.

Oh. I forgot. Behr believes that he owns the ‘Zone, and The Ron Mexico has chosen to scoff at my humorous request for his hospitality. Well, pitiable 2&1/2 men, the majority of Zoners do not share your imperative to sink to the ugliest denominator of online behavior and persist in convivial discourse.

In short, nanner nanner boo boo.

Lol, welcome to competitive baseball. Don't let him use his game bat in the batting cage. Most bats now are a composite material and not the 45 lb AL bats that you knew. Get him a wood bat for batting practice and wrap a couple layers of adhesive tape on the barrel. If you get him a high dollar bat, tell him to put it in his bag after every use. One big shot can crack them so let the other players use team bats or get their own.

Why would he use that vs the 1980's indestrutable aluminim bat he currently uses for practice that's out hitting these new ones? :D Honestly we're saving wood for the games. Alot of the kids do that use old aluminum for practice and wood on game day. I know I know, there's bats that are made to out hit wood...to me that still feels cheaty. If the pros can use wood so can they.

IF he plays travel ball, they won't let him. But I guess you aren't there yet.

This is 12 yr old fall ball..it's not as strict. I'll ask but It's my understanding they can use wood. This isn't the super competative ball. We're still learning to throw properly, and field ground balls.

When do they go to 90 ft bases?

To be honest I haven't paid attention. This isn't like an official Junior league or anything..... I know at the park we're using they are on the largest of the little league fields. But it's smaller then HS I think. I'll try and find out.

per past comment bat rules:
"The bat must be an unaltered baseball bat (not softball). All non‐wood bats must meet 1.15 BPF (Bat Performance Factor) for the life of the bat and must possess a clearly identifiable manufacturer’s certification stamp. This includes 2 1/4", 2 5/8", and 2 3/4" barrel bats. BBCOR bats are also legal for use in ages 5‐12."

Wooden bats are deff permitted. This fall league is more about teaching the game.....not super competative, it's more recreation, and teaching skills. they don't even do full uniforms just a hat and shirt.

I am a bit bummed there is no Jr or Senior league play locally. looks like everyone is expected to just play for their schools at that point. I hate that cause he's a late starter and just wants to play and learn. So this place stops at 12, unsure what options will be after he's 13. I mean I saw some 13 to adult softball..but that's not what we're really looking for.

Most places have competitive teams through freshman. I've been out a long while but my oldest played until he was a freshman in nonscholastic leagues. Not jrs or srs, just competitive ball. Many small towns probably don't have enough kids after 12 year olds to run rec leagues.
