Will you rush the field after we beat Ga ?

Couple of thoughts on this:
First- Because I live in Bama, I get the brunt of their snarky comments. The one I get the most is “act like you’ve been there”, the vibe that they are so good they expect to win every game. In their defense, yep, I get it - no denying they have been there, but by golly just look at the picture. Why waste an opportunity to party after an awesome victory? Look at how happy that crowd was on the field at that time. A memorable and special moment. Nobody fighting, good tunes playing and a legitimate victory. (Wasn’t the refs you Gumps))

Second: Crybaby Nick had the SEC pass a rule (I think, could ne wrong) that visiting team gets a cut of the fine. If so it would suck for Kirby and company to get the consolation prize.

Third: meet me on the 50- can’t miss me. I’ll be the old guy in orange.
Tell them we hadn't been there in a long time, but we promise we won't rush the field in Tuscaloosa this year or Knoxville next year.

It’s weird being the same age as old people.

There is a lot of 4th quarter drama involved in a spontaneous field "rush". Lets say we were up by 17 or more in the 3rd quarter and kept the foot on the gas. The Bama field rush might never have happened. The tie was broken only when the clock was at 0:00, and that wobbly wounded duck kick, while in the air was the kind of kick that was saying to the fans as it was in route - "I'll never make it to the cross bar.. I'll never make it to the crossbar...I'll never make it to the crossbar".

It hung in the air for an eternity, and only when the refs did the old west "reach for the sky" thing, was the reality of "its over , we won" that, only then did the dam break.

It's much like Auburn's kick six rush the field. Poor little Nicky, whined and pleaded for the refs to put one second back on the clock for that game and it bit him. Ha Ha.
I'm not sure the crowd would have rushed had the last play been the victory formation. And if it was that, then by that time, security would have time to prepare and they would be a human chain around the field. Some would have tried and gotten away with it, but a lot could have landed in jail for the night.

I entered Neyland for the first time in 1965. Alumni and parents had season tickets for many years. Of all the time I've spent watching games in Neyland, that moment was the absolute high water mark for me. It was beautiful to see 100,000 happy people coming together to share a cigar, and the powers that be, wise enough to say "Let them enjoy this" rather than zip tying wrists behind the back and loading up the paddy wagon. I don't think I'll see anything like that again in Neyland stadium.

That ending of the Bama game was the "perfect storm". I hope a Georgia victory is done by the last play being "take a knee".

So, if memory serves, didn’t Jones take a time-out after the “Dobb’s Nail Boot” score? If he hadn’t and proceeded to directly to the extra point, would Georgia’s goal posts come down? Did the time out cool things off?

and miss the disappointment in those faces. . .UGA needed those posts as reminders.

Taking into account that UGA has won the last SIX games in this "rivalry," going all the way back to Dobbs heaving it ...

If it's a "Tennessee beating #1 Georgia" situation, anything short of a 3 TD blowout means rushing the field is approved.

If it's a #2 vs #4 sort of matchup, and Tennessee moves up to #1 by beating Georgia, rushing the field is approved.

If it's a Top 10 matchup, with Tennessee mounting an unlikely comeback to take the W, rushing the field is approved.

And if it's just to piss all over those SEC Conference jackholes for trying to stamp out every bit of passion from SEC fanbases - even though that same passion is what MAKES the SEC the best conference in sports - rushing the field is approved. Shove their faces in it. I'm sorry that lil ol' country girl threatened your defenseless "scared" 240 pound player, Nick, but if all you're gonna do is whine to the SEC every time Tennessee whips your ass from here on in, you can shut the hell up and retire already.
we need a "Love" but here.

Nope I am super conservative i.e. keep off my lawn conservative, and I feel that rushing the field only gives them more respect than they deserve. We Have Been There Before, by the way.

I think the field rushing is over. For a while at least. I don't think the SEC is playing around with that this year.

Not any more, Nationdom, not any more.

As of last year, Georgia has more wins all-time than us. :(

I can't wait until we pass them back again. It'll take decades, but maybe we'll still be alive for it.

Go Vols!
We can catch up sooner than you think. Georgia can’t continue their current level of recruiting forever, especially if Tennessee is resurgent enough to start winning its share of top level Georgia talent

When the # 1 ranked VOLS defeat the # 2 ranked Dawgs in Neyland Stadium on 11-18-23 . Nothing will stop the multitudes of BIG ORANGE fans from storming the field !!
Disclaimer , copious amounts of George Dickel and optimism were involved in this comment : ) GO VOLS !!
George Dickel?

And GA will be ranked #1 because they started the season that way. But I really want to ruin their season

I think Georgia loses one before they come in here. They just feel so ripe for an upset. And it will be against some Team they overlook

No, Georgia isn’t on the same level as Alabama historically. I think we should rush the field in Gainesville and Tuscaloosa though since they changed the rule to the fine being sent to the away team.
