The Atlanta Braves

Wish we could bring back Coldplay
I've been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
The testaments they told
The moon and its eclipse
And Superman unrolls
A suit before he lifts
But I'm not the kind of person that it fits

She said, where'd you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I'm not lookin' for somebody
With some superhuman gifts
Some superhero
Some fairy-tale bliss
Just something I can turn to
Somebody I can miss
I want something just like this

Let’s find the worst bullpen imaginable and trade for their relievers!

Hand is fine for the price. Good chance we play the Phillies in October and we need three lefties. Just tired of dudes that throw 93 🙄🙄🙄

I also think if you’re going to really go for it at the deadline if you’re Atlanta…this is the year. You got the best team in the NL by a decent margin. You’ve got the division locked up. Home field is almost guaranteed. Dodgers the weakest they’ve been in a few years, Reds/Brewers/Cubs are fine but have significant holes. Philly’s pitching staff is mediocre. Giants/Diamondbacks aren’t on your talent level. To me, this is the year to overpay at the deadline if you were going too.

They clearly need pen help and could use a starter, but why would you overpay when you’re the best team in baseball and the farm system already lacks resources?

Because usually 1 out of every 4 prospects traded at the deadline actually does something and the field is weaker this year than in the past.

If Rodriguez agree to opt in to his contract (3 years/$49M) would you trade Vaughn and a middling pitching prospect?

I would trade Vaughn for a lot of things.
Honestly there is nobody in the minors I wouldn't move in the right deal.
As many guys as there are locked up at the MLB level, I think you're right. But . . . the middle infield does become an issue in the next couple of years.

I can't argue. Losing Ozzie at second in a couple years aligns similar to Grissoms timeliness. At SS, I'm hoping the international kid we signed last year moves quickly and takes that spot from Arica. Although that might be a little too aggressive.

Arcia has team control through 2026. Ozzie through 2027. Either way, Vaughn is gonna be in the OF or gone by then lol

If your general question is about willingness to trade vaughn, then yes.

Yeah my thing with Vaughn is where is he going to play. Infield locked up for three years. LF makes sense but the Braves need a LHB in that spot IMO. He’s kind of in no man’s land

Yep . . . He probably needs to be either at 3B or LF.
