I'm tired of this stupid conversation... but the definitions you posted said "sometimes" and "often" disparaging; not always. Your 2nd definition also makes the point that I have - it is associated more with behavior and personal tastes than with a race.

The definition he provided doesn't say sometimes white though.

The one from oxford also mentions race and calls it derogatory. Please see below AGAIN

I didn't say that it did. It said sometimes disparaging. It's not always disparaging ... and it never just refers to race and race alone either. It is not an all purpose, "one word suits all" racial slur.

I've heard the N word being used in what seems like a term of endearment "my n-word" and I've heard white people being called the N-word.

You are not going to get me to believe that "redneck" is a racial slur in the same mold as "n***er." If that is what you believe. then we will just have to agree to disagree.

There can be exceptions to just about anything ... but I believe that would be rare. There is normally a component of unrefined behavior and unsophisticated personal tastes and a simplistic lifestyle associated. I don't believe that redneck is the same all purpose insult as "n***er."

If you disagree? Fine. I don't care.

I dont use either term, so therefore there is no agree to disagree. Both are used derogatory towards the race it’s directed at. Annoying is trying to validate a derogatory term as acceptable.

I saw and heard it used that way up to my teens so in fairly modern times. Look at Twain's writing, which was way long after the word originated.
If we write something silly we can expect others to take exception.

Only a hillbilly would ever be offended by the word, and that's how you know it's not a slur against whites. When somebody says "redneck," I know they're not talking about me. If I hear "cracker," they might be talking about me. Obviously, there is a huge difference between redneck and an actual racial slur.

The fact that you have to be so specific here (and you're not specific enough, TBH) is why you should know it's different. Someone can say "cracker" and they might be talking about me. The fact that I'm white (and from the south) but would never accurately be referred to as a "redneck" is the distinction.

Accurately? When it's used as a slur the qualifiers in your mind of education, attitude, behavior, etc. don't apply. You're white so you qualify. Or you're Southern so you qualify.

Clearly, there is a difference between cracker and redneck, right? Can you guys admit that much? Probably not.
