I don't think that furthering a political agenda is any excuse for hoping for/enjoying the ailments of others.

What if, hypothetically, I think the politician has absolutely no redeeming qualities at all? For example, Mitch McConnell and Joe Biden?

I think you are mistaking what you see in this case. It isn't that people would wish Biden the worst. People are outraged that Biden is in the position he is in for a number of reasons, and it had to have been obvious to people supporting him at the time of the election that he was unfit. This generally isn't a case of people trashing a person with a terrible disease; it's the frustration that people are venting over the fact that someone so unfit is in the highest office in the country; those who were responsible for him being there are the real targets ... except for the most part they aren't available to take the hits. To make matters worse the VP is basically as incompetent although seemingly physically healthy, so not much hope on resolving the situation that way either. And to add icing to the cake, most of us know the dud duo would win again with the voting conducted in the same manner.

I think it’s silliness but people wish ill will towards politicians on both sides of the aisle…. I do think actions are much worse…. Voting for someone that you know is incapable of doing the job….. chasing politicians around in restaurants…. Calling for riots…going inside the capital building. All of that sort of thing needs to stop, imo.

With some real leadership instead of political hacks, it might stop. People are fed up with politicians, what they stand for, and the people on the other side of the aisle (both sides see the other as the villain). The thing about that last part is that the politicians themselves are largely to blame for dividing the country.

We shouldn't enjoy seeing that happen to anyone. It appears to be painful and only hope that it doesn't happen to our family members if there is not already past experience with it.

To me which makes this all the more odd. He is in the most powerful position in the world and are people that power hungry where they subject a struggling man to this. Most of us have a good feeling he is getting medicated behind the scenes to take on the minimal rigors of the job. Forget policy differences for a moment and just look at the energy level between him and Trump. What's even more laughable is Biden's personal push up challenge coming from an ailing man.
