President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

Simple, really.

Regulate tuition prices. Ration student loans to stem, business, and all vocations which have robust salaries. All other degrees go to community college and low-cost state schools.
Kill the Federal Student Loan program. The entire system will correct itself.

Demand will go down.
Costs will go down.
Debt will go down.

My peer in Johnson City is hiring line cooks with no experience at $15 an hours. Dishwasher no experience $18. A 16 year old host makes $10-$12
I'm sorry a dishwasher making 3$ more an hour than a cook? Surely you just got em mixed up...

I agree food service is paying great (relatively) right now. Because it's actual work and people turn their noses at it.

If you're in your early thirties now, you will look back on this time in your 80s and think how affordable everything is. Seriously, inflation is part of our economic norm. We just happen to be in a period of time with accelerated inflation.
He’s not old enough to have witnessed a full cycle yet. He will.

The WW2 generation thought the Boomers were bunch of lazy, dirty hippies.

My tuition was $13k a year and was paid for via scholarships. My wife worked while going to school and paid for her schooling outside of the $15k in loans she ended up with. We both drove 10+ year old cars, that I took care of.
13k a year? Did you got to UT? Because that's about what it costs currently.

Demand will go down.
Costs will go down.
Debt will go down.
Never gonna happen. Love the idea in principle but it's never gonna happen.

Remember when I said you would talk about the next generation the way the previous talked about you???

Absolutely not. Dishwasher is the worst job in the building. It also has significantly higher turnover. Garbage men make more then teachers for a reason

He's bragging about "buckling down" and getting a 15k loan paid off. Big whoop. I'm laughing at you for thinking it doesn't matter the difference in tuition over the last 40 years. Y'all boomers paid 10k for a college degree, 4k for a new car, 40k for a new house. Boomers literally had everything the needed pretty much readily available to them and all they had to do was not **** it up, and refuse to see how it is completely different today.

I wish I could go back to 17 year old me and tell me DO NOT go to college, but my boomer parents drilled it into my head if I didn't go to college I'd always be poor.

Yeah? And? Our salaries weren't nearly what people make today either. People make more and they pay more ... inflation. Pay attention. Inflation is a spiral - all a game of trying to match incomes to costs ... and inflating cost of goods because of increased labor costs. The proverbial dog chasing his tail. You know the worst part is that as long as man survives, so will inflation.

The other part driving the cost of college education is demand. Some of that stems from the Griggs v. Duke Power Co decision. Look it up. Boomers (and elders) used to have to take tests when applying for jobs so the employer could decide if you had the skills. When that came to a screeching halt, employers started using college degrees as a decision point whether the job actually required a degree or not.

Explain that.

Over half of public corporations trading on the NYSE are incorporated in DE. Ford and GM headquarters are in MI, both are Delaware Companies. Boeing, Lockheed, Airbus incorporated in DE. The list is endless

Some of the reasons:
Reasons businesses incorporate in Delaware:
  • In Delaware, one person can hold the title of each of the officers of the business.
  • Delaware has no minimum bank account requirement for a company’s bank account. This is in contrast to a number of states that require a $1,000.00 minimum bank balance.
  • Delaware does not require business owners to list their names when filing business formation papers; therefore, no names appear on the public record and your company can maintain its privacy.
  • Delaware does not impose state income tax on businesses that do not operate within the state.
  • When you form a company in Delaware, Delaware is the domicile of your company, thus the rules and regulations your company follows are the Delaware corporate laws as applied by the Delaware Court of Chancery. Delaware is famous for its fair and flexible corporate laws and its case law, as dispensed by the most respected business court in the United States, the Delaware Court of Chancery.
  • Directors are free to set any price on shares of stock they wish to sell.
  • The process to register a business in Delaware is straightforward and uncomplicated; if you do so online, by phone or by mail through Harvard Business Services, Inc, we make it easy, fast and affordable for you.
