A WR from UT Martin? I don't get these dumbasses that are drafting players for the Titans. @VolPack22and myself could do such a better job picking players for a smaller fee.
Levis had a golden opportunity to go win a game at Ole Miss in crunch time and he left a puddle of pee on the field. No thanks, find some other fans if you want to continue making bad decisions. This will go down as one of the worst drafts in franchise history.
1922 - Charlie Robertson of the Chicago White Sox pitched a 2-0 perfect game against the Detroit Tigers.
1946 - Dispelling the rumors that he had lost his fastball after nearly four years in the Navy, Bob Feller of the Cleveland Indians hurls his second no-hitter, beating the New York Yankees 1-0 on Frankie Hayes' home run in the ninth inning.
1949 - Rocky Nelson hits an inside-the-glove two-run home run in short left field to turn a ninth inning 3-1 Cubs lead into a 4-3 Cardinals victory. Cubs center fielder Andy Pafko's catch is ruled a trap by umpire Al Barlick. As Pafko races in, holding the ball high, runners circle the bases.
1958 - Ted Williams becomes the tenth major league player to tally 1,000 extra base hits. The A's beat Boston 10-4.
1961 - Willie Mays of the San Francisco Giants hit four home runs in a 14-4 victory over the Braves in Milwaukee.
1967 - Steve Barber and Stu Miller of the Baltimore Orioles combined on a no-hitter in a 2-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers in the first game of a doubleheader. Barber pitched 8 2/3 innings and Miller one-third of an inning.
1969 - Jim Maloney of the Cincinnati Reds struck out 13 en route to a 10-0 no-hitter over the Houston Astros, the third of his career.
1970 - During a 9-2 loss to the Braves, Cubs outfielder Billy Williams becomes the first player in N.L. history to play 1,000 consecutive games.
1977 - Ron Cey cracks a seventh-inning home run in a 6-4 Dodger win over the Expos. Cey finishes the month with an April major league record 29 RBI (since broken) to lead the Dodgers to a 17-3 start under new manager Tommy Lasorda.
1985 - Dale Murphy drives in his 28th and 29th runs of the season in Atlanta's 8-4 win over the Reds, tying Ron Cey's 1977 record for RBI in April.
1986 - The Mariners strike out 16 more times in a 9-4 loss to the Red Sox, setting a major league record of 36 strikeouts in two consecutive games.
1988 - Dave Winfield drives in his 28th and 29th runs of the season in New York's 15-3 rout of Texas, tying the major league record for RBI in April.
1988 - New York and Cincinnati hooked up in a wild game at Riverfront Stadium that the Mets pulled out 6-5, on a delayed call by first base umpire Dave Pallone. The call resulted in a $10,000 fine and 30-day suspension of Reds manager Pete Rose when Pallone accidentally poked Rose in the cheek and Rose shoved Pallone twice.
1994 - Blue Jays outfielder Joe Carter finishes April with 31 RBI to set a major league record for the month. Colorado's Andres Galarraga sets the N.L. mark with 30.
1997 - Tino Martinez, who got off to a painfully slow start in his first season as a Yankee in 1996, does not have that problem this April. Martinez finishes the month with a major league record 34 RBI.
1997 - The Atlanta Braves have no trouble getting used to their new stadium or their two new outfielders (Kenny Lofton and Michael Tucker) as they become the first team to ever finish April with 19 wins. Atlanta ends the month with a .760 winning percentage overall and a gaudy 12-2 record at Turner Field. Lofton is batting .395 and Tucker is at .418 following a 12-3 pounding of the Reds to round out the month.
