I was on a walker more than with either knee. Maybe 3 days. Purely for balance...high CG and all. The issue was with the incision sight. Due to where it is, it folds over anytime you sit. If I had it to do over, I would stay reclined for at least 3 weeks instead of sit. The actual hip itself was about a 4 to 5 day deal. 2 weeks in therapy. You will need strength training longer but you can do that at home. All in all if the incision doesn't give you any issues you should be close to 80% plus in 8 weeks. I went back to work full-time on sight in 3 weeks. Was dumb.@82_VOL_83, how long were you down after hip surgery? I know what the surgeon told me, but I’m not doing that.
I’m shooting for two and half weeks. AND I WILL. Thank you, but I have a lot of work issues I need to attend to. I have everything already in place with competent replacements for me, but I know that will drive me.I was on a walker more than with either knee. Maybe 3 days. Purely for balance...high CG and all. I would just (suggesting gently and lovingly) put the same amount of emphasis on the long-term success of your surgery as on your ongoing work issues. That hip and its attached leg will be with you for the rest of your life, and you should have a LASER-like focus on ensuring an optimal outcome. Look at it this way: the better your new hip works, the better your work will work.I’m shooting for two and half weeks. AND I WILL. Thank you, but I have a lot of work issues I need to attend to. PS, forgot to add: I’ve put you on our church prayer list (your first name and nature and date of surgery only) - I hope that’s ok! If it’s too weird, let me know, and I can undo it.I’m shooting for two and half weeks. AND I WILL. Thank you, but I have a lot of work issues I need to attend to. The only issue with that is if you try to go back too quickly, the incision may not have healed sufficiently. I pushed it and am still struggling to get the wound 100%. I don't doubt that you can do it, but it will only close so fast. BTW, will you have an anterior or posterior incision? Posterior are rare now but are an entirely different animal.I’m shooting for two and half weeks. AND I WILL. Thank you, but I have a lot of work issues I need to attend to.
