Gun control debate (merged)

A high school friend was interviewed and said that Conner Sturgeon(the shooter in Louisville) hosted a basketball-focused podcast with two buddies and tweeted about the NBA in between posts in support of the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, as well as some criticism of police violence and of then-President Donald Trump. He was a recent Alabama graduate who went to Alabama to live the Frat life according to the friend. Had multiple concussions in HS and had to wear a helmet when he played basketball because of the concussions. Also fired from the bank last week.

There's literally millions upon millions of people in this country who, if they did something like this, you could say in retrospect "Oh sure, I can see it. It was because of concussion/bad breakup/depression/got fired/drugs/mental illness flavor of the month."

There's one thing -- and one thing only -- that all of these shooting have in common.

they weren't part of the NRA, GOA, or other such group, and it didn't happen where you can find the most guns.

I am sure you will try to use the one exception to prove the rule....

Would appear so.

And I just read that he live-streamed part of it, so it was planned.... including the gun part, obviously. Not that this bothers anyone.

Imagine being such a dishonest loser that you try to proclaim everyone who doesn’t agree with your idea of removing all the guns just isn’t bothered.

What a presumption

Mental health issues? Or are you claiming this is a perfectly rational reaction?

Bothered enough to do anything meaningful.

Better?

Why do you believe government is the solution to this? Will the government lower their desire to take the lives of others?

If not, are you really making any difference or are you simply slowly eroding the rights of others. Because the truth is homicide will never actually end. So everytime one occurs you expect us to continue passing stricter and laws eternally?

Don’t worry guys if you give into what LG wants, it will not create a slippery slope that leads to more and more weapon confiscation. Despite the fact that his actual claim for why it’s constitutional is a slippery slope argument (you can’t own a bazooka!) where he’s openly claiming that because you’ve allowed some of your rights to be taken that you should obviously allow more.

At least not until the next event happens that he decides to politicize to push his agenda. Because as we all know, laws don’t stop crime. So more will occur and LG and his kind will simply demand more.

When people make the pathetic argument of “don’t you care about the bodies!”

They’re openly admitting 1 of 2 things:

1. They’ll never stop demanding more legislation because the bodies will never stop regardless of the amount of legislation

Or

2. They don’t actually care about the bodies and once you pass this legislation they’ll stop virtue signaling and blaming you for the deaths.

25 year old white male "legally" and casually creating a massacre, because access to guns is more important than regulation, when it comes to politicians paid to look the other way by gun manufacturers.

Instead, we are to consistently ignore how these makers create more guns than we need, resulting in unimaginable yet avoidable horrors upon humanity.

Let's have hearings on TikTok, instead. The corporate agenda necessitates our suffering and constant fear of gun violence, the dollar demands it.
