No. I don’t think I am.I think you may have twisted yourself into a state of confusion.
See if this helps:
My stated position from last night: "I could easily compromise on a bill making certain surgeries illegal for anyone under the age of 18, as long as there are provisions for the extraordinary situations."
You said: "I do not agree with your positiion"
I asked: "Where do you disagree."
You answered: "That the child and parent are free to act as long as they agree."
I responded: "Who said that? I specifically stated, more than once, that I was happy for some surgeries to be made illegal for children under the age of 18, with exceptions for extraordinary cases."
You then said: "You actually threw in an additional qualifier if we’re being fair. You said that in “unique situations”, and under the “advise” of medical professionals, as long as the kid and parent agree they are free to act."
So, let's try again. Where do you disagree?
You seem to have constructed a three legged stool of criteria that must be fulfilled.
- Must meet the definition of “unique situation”
- Must be under advisement from a “medical professional”
- Must have mutual agreement between parent and child
If those 3 requirements are met, are you now saying you do not approve?
