"Tennessee needs to fire Barnes so they can get over the hump."
IS MORE STUPID THAN
"Kentucky needs to fire Stoops so they can get over the hump."
And that last statement is the height of stupidity.
Anyone who thinks Barnes needs to be fired, has this board to flame away but most rational fans won't pay too much attention to them. Barnes is going to retire from UT some day and I'm good with that. He has built a very good program. I hope that he self-reflects and figures out how to break this run of disappointments in the NCAA tournament, and frankly I think he deserves the chance to do it. Regardless of those disappointments, getting UT to the tournament annually and actually being relevant in college basketball consistently.......you can't take that away from him."Tennessee needs to fire Barnes so they can get over the hump."

This is the way I see it. Stoops has gotten KY over many humps already; however he may not be able to get them over the remaining humps. If Stoops was replaced, there is a 60% chance KY would move backward, a 30% chance they stay where they are, and a 10% chance they get over additional humps. Do you risk a 60% chance of getting worse for a 10% of getting better. So wait ... that means ... you think Stoops will get Kentucky over the hump then? Or you think Kentucky simply cannot get over the hump no matter who's in charge, so they should keep Stoops?
I'm not even challenging the claim, not am I seeking a coaching change at UT, I just don't understand the implied negative here. That doesn't seem like a very strong argument.

Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it. Before Barnes came along, Tennesse fans would have been happy squeezing into the tournament and playing their first game in Dayton. Now, under Barnes, we have been no less than a 5 seed. This continued success is being taken for granted by some fans
Donnie Tyndall.
Your point?
No ide if you're serious but if the NCAA wasn't a bunch of idiots and that guy could come back and coach a major program again, he'd do some great things. He can coach. He has himself to blame, but at the same time, the other guys who have gotten away with similar stuff or gotten slaps on the wrist have me think he's paid too heavy a price.
