The 2023 March Madness “Other Games” Thread

It’s not about being an underdog. It’s about the path of least resistance and in no universe is FDU a harder game than FAU. You all are just battered and scared.

You’re the one scared calling them a 3 seed.

I said we were better than both. Sports don’t carry the transitive property. It is about matchups.

FAU beat Florida and Memphis. I'd much have preferred FDU. Yes FDU best Purdue but even the coach said they lose 99 out of 100

FAU lost to Ole Miss by 20+. They split the regular season series with MTSU.

They're entertaining to watch but they aren't a problem.
Actually, they lost to Ole Miss by 13 (80-67).

For what it’s worth, they have a higher KenPom ranking than every team we lost to with the exception of Arizona. We should handle them, but anyone who would have preferred FDU is crazy….

You keep using this word matchup, as if FDU and FAU aren’t the same style of play. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

They beat Purdue. Anything can happen. Sometimes a team that plays totally different can give another team fits. Just like playing a triple option team in Football .

They would have put this away by now if they had hit their layups and 2 footers. 10-12 maybe??????

I’d much rather be playing fau in the sweet 16 than Purdue or Memphis but you’re kidding yourself if you think this will be an easy win. It’ll be a battle of a really good offense vs a really good defense.

Then please explain how FAU is a better match up than FDU.

They at least have a big and will play some down low. They will play closer to something akin to standard basketball than FAU ever would.

If refs called a tight game our guards would get in foul trouble quickly against their speed demons.
