I for one don’t think schools kids were interested in out of high school play a huge factor in their transfers. Their perspective changes a lot after playing somewhere.

Dye and Walker certainly weren’t on our radar out of high school but both made an impact during their time at UT.

You have to recruit them just like you do high schoolers. It’s a clean slate. I’d be shocked if Walker doesn’t at least have a visit.

to be as fair as possble VolBall09 was in a group who have 10-12000 responses re recruiting over the last three years, many of whom have inside information.

the board did much better in identifying players who would not sign with the Lady Vols.

on a side note Avery Strickland averaged 20 mpg, made 39-115 3pt, and 6 pts per game at Pittsburgh, BTW the coach was fired and the team went 10-20

Aneesah Morrow is a great player but, should she transfer, I doubt it will be to join an SEC team given that she decided to attend a university in her home town of Chicago.

On the other hand, Tennessee would probably be an attractive step up for a player like Destinee Wells (from Belmont) a guard who can handle and distribute the ball in addition to being able to create her own shot and being an excellent 3-point shooter.

Back for next season Key, Jackson, Puckett, Pissott, Striplin, Hollingshead, Miles, Darby and Wynn for sure. Possibles Horston and Powell. The portal is not looking as important as it once was. Looking like we need a combo shooting guard someone that can shoot the three and defend the two position.

Im honestly starting to think Jordan is coming back, and if she does, does that mean we start to “portal” over some of the kids we have coming back next year?

Wynn and miles should look to transfer for better fits puckett is who we need to rerecruit but i forgot about marta as well so its gone be a interesting offseason

Only at the PG position, IMO. I don't think we'll be too active in the portal otherwise.

I think Puckett is 100% good. Marta probably will not be back, totally speculation but I'd say 70/30 not back.

It would be nice to get a player like Dyaisha Fair or Angel Baker - a quick, slasher guard that can SHOOT.

There’s no reason to replace players that will be entering their junior or sophomore seasons that have contributed as underclassmen which is the case for Puckett, Striplin, and Wynn in limited minutes. The only positions Tennessee need to fill is a versatile PG/G and add depth at C. The top options in the portal should be players entering their sophomore or junior seasons. We don’t need more veterans for the next year or two.

A couple needs to transfer just not going to play here. Need a couple guards that that can shoot from the perimeter and guard the drive. We have everything else.
