The DeSantis containment thread -- all things DeSantis go here

If that makes you feel better about how the Republican Party performed in the 2022 mid-term elections, more power to you. LOL.

The reality is, that in elections which were identified as "toss ups" or within the margin of error by 270 to win, and Real Clear Poiltics, the Democratic Party nominee won 29 out of 42 House races, 4 out 5 Governor's races and 5 out of 7 Senate races.

In a mid-term election cycle, while a Democratic Party President had a 42% approval rating in November of 2022 ... Republicans managed to lose Governor's races in Kansas, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. Republicans lost 1 seat in the Senate and only gained 9 seats in the House.

Not a very impressive showing by the GOP.
They took the House, that's good enough for me because that somewhat keeps some control on this very dangerous regime. Not having a drunk nancy as Speaker is also a W

Why is nationalism seen as a bad thing?
Because the ultimate goal of the left, all the way from Marx to Davos and the WEF has always been the same, one world government under the control of their own „experts“. Nationalists have a disturbing tendency to actually care about their own welfare and self interest and we CAN‘T have that now can we?

Look at you preaching truth. And it ain’t even Sunday yet! 😉

I’d vote for DeSantis in a heartbeat. He was the tip of the spear against the COVID lockdowns and nonsense. That, IMO, makes him Presidential material. It tells me he’s not afraid to stand up for what is best for Americans.

That and he has the number one characteristic we need in a leader right now; he is not afraid of the media.

Not true. The state of TN never locked down or instituted a mask mandate. Can FL say that?

NFW am I voting for this guy. Not 1 mention of reducing the federal government, cutting the number of departments/agencies or reducing their power, he just wants to spend money to move them. He’s a fraud.
So you would actually rather see a Democrat elected? 😬. If DeSantis is the nominee, you would either vote for Biden or not vote at all (same as voting for Biden) rather than vote for someone who doesn’t meet your ideological purity test? That is insane

DeSantis hasn’t come close to passing any of my tests. He’s just another big government R.

The play is the same no matter if the lead actor or the understudy take the stage.

There isn't a dimes worth of difference between two big government politicians.

I see where you are coming from. But there is quite a difference in the speed at which the two parties do damage. Biden and the Democrats are working at warp speed to destroy the American way of life. At least the Republicans will not try to eliminate fossil fuels, trans the military, ban gas stoves, put DEI Commisars in power in EVERY department, and further indoctrinate kids at the behest of the teachers Unions.
Diabetes and Ebola can both kill you; but you sure have better odds with the former.
Don’t throw away the better chance just because you seek perfection. Your survival literally depends upon it

Let me ask it his way. Do you think there would be no difference in the way America looks in 2028 after your years of DeSantis as opposed to 4 more years of Biden?

Lot of red meat thrown it your post.

I have 3 issues: taxes, spending, and size of government. I'm not looking for perfection. I'd settle for anyone with a decent track record favorable on two out of three.

Not much. How much different does it look from bush 2 to biden???

Are you serious Clark?
After Bush 2, I didn’t have HR telling me I had to get a vaccine to work. HR wasn’t encouraging me to include my „pronouns“ in my email signature. I didn’t have to worry if teachers at my school might be asking my kids if they wanted to change their gender identity without my knowledge. I didn’t have to make sure my local library didn’t use my tax dollars for „drag Queen story hours“. No one was seriously recommending I eat bugs or drive an EV.
You sound like the frog in the pot of water on the stove, thinking everything is just about the same when the culture is literally cooking you alive.
America has changed more since Bush 2 than at any other comparable time since the Civil War. And not for the better.

Currently, and extremely likely to change as the process continues, my preferred potential candidates are:

Andrew Yang - Liz Cheney - Chris Sununu - Tom Hanks - Denzel Washington - Gary Sinise - Bill Gates - Tim Allen - Leonardo DiCaprio - Sylvester Stallone - Broderick Harvey - Arnold Schwarzenegger J.B. Pritzker - Josh Shapiro - Jared Polis

Right now, I'm just following the people about, reading up on them, watching to see if I really would vote for any of them if they ran for President.

Hey rightists, instead of sitting on your butts criticizing and mocking my list, why put your own list out here? Probably won't as you typically have no real guts. Just huddle together as a group, like a Jr High that exists solely for being snotty and bullying others. But if you need guts to list your possible choices, here's some guts:
