I don’t know if I agree with that…. I have won a lot of money off of them not knowing…. When it is the number one team in the country…. They are typically tough to beat.
Nah that line should've opened with TN as a dog. Vegas knew if TN could turn Bama over they had a shot. They set a line to bait people into Bama, but where you couldn't really make money on either side. If Bama had started out hot that line would've flipped quick.

As a professional the coach should take the blame but give credit to the players, assistants. That doesn't mean in reality things don't happen that are beyond our control. I've always tried to defend players, keep a tight lid on information, and keep parents, media etc at arms length.
Doesn’t matter if it is outside your control…. That’s what you get paid for…. I feel the same way about all of the teams I have coached(much lower level of course)

Home court advantage is such a huge deal in college basketball…. It was always hard for me to gamble on big games especially in conference…. I ate big time in smaller conferences during the out of conference…Between 85-95% correct.

Vegas always knows. When we opened -3 I knew something was up.
The question is how? Nothing and I mean NOTHING pointed to UT being a favorite other than it being a home game. We had back to back heartbreaking losses. Our offense had been ticking up but the defense had tailed off. Down at least one starter which turned out to be 2 and this team looked gassed. Bama unbeaten in the SEC and clearly looks to be the best team in the league and ranked #1 nationally. How do they come to us being -3? Makes one wonder if Vegas has has acquired an updated version of Gray's Sports Almanac.

I don't agree..we've played well several times and just lost to other teams that were also playing well...or we were just flat unlucky.
We lost to a bad Michigan 17-14 team last year that was without one of its best players…. They got whipped their next game.

Season before… we got whipped by 14 too. 12 seed( they did go on a run but still beat us worse than anyone else they played.

The year before that(our best season) we struggled with mediocre teams Colgate and Iowa. We played a decent game against Purdue( Edwards for them was really hot at the time)

The season that still pisses me off…. We lost to freaking Loyola-Chicago…. The whole tournament opened up for us…. We were Loyola Chicago…. Nevada…. k-State away from. Final Four…. When Loyola-Chicago had to play a team seeded as high as we were(3)….. they got whipped by 12 points.

I think there's a fine line there.

Butch was waay to bigga control freak and it showed in how his teams responded. It was a clown show. Huepel lets his people be themselves, established boundaries, showing confidence in those around him. Also has a lot to do with surrounding yourself with good folks.

I said don't be surprised if it was closer than it should've been. It made sense because it made no sense.
Also although the losses were frustrating as possible, they really aren't all that bad in the grand scheme of things 2 last second buzzer beaters barely happen to a team once per season let alone twice. Third Bamas TO's and we are decent at turning teams over. Lastly Bama coming off a hard fought emotional win against Auburn on Sat they were due for a let down.
I mentioned this in the b ball thread, a capper I follow sets his own lines for every game then bets accordingly, his line was Vols -2.

Nice, I waited all night hoping for a + money line last night and never got it. The only complaint I have from last night.
Who keeps getting me in trouble this year is UNC and Wake I keep betting those damn teams and can't figure them out to save my life.

wth is she talking about? Barnes is the ultimate good guy, he was talking about effort in the game.

I missed something apparently, or that lady is nucking futs.
The players were mocking the Bama fans that were in attendance by doing the Fighting Crane pose from The Karate Kid...it is something that Metchie (Alabama wr) started doing after big plays and became a Crappabama thing...Matchie has cancer, so that idiot was saying that Tennessee players were making fun of a player that has cancer.

Read the replies on that thread...it's explanatory.

Like I said...unlucky

Incredible win last night, this team really needed that to get back some confidence!

Next two games are on the road and brutal... KY in Rupp will be hyped, don't kid yourself, they want to sweep us right after we take down Bama... TAMU is HOT right now and will be licking their chops for us to come to their house where they are undefeated I believe...

Big question here is which UT team is gonna show up to these games? The fact that we took down Bama without JJJ and Phillips should tell everyone we have the talent on this team to whip anyone... Aidoo kicked arse, so you see what he can do, but he now needs to show up like this consistently...

This will be a mental game for the remainder of the season and I have said all year that mentally/self confidence is where this team struggles. It will be difficult to keep it up on the road, so this will be a huge test for us. I hope that coming off this big win won't leave us with a hangover, but motivate us and energize us to finish the season STRONG. I would love nothing better than to go to Rupp and return the favor and whip the kitties... We can beat TAMU, we just need to show up and play our game. GBO!!

She's not talking about Barnes, she's talking about the players doing the "crane" from karate kid. Evidently Menchi from the Alabama football team did it and others are doing it when they beat Alabama. I'm not sure of the tie in with cancer. She's a nutcase. She's a media wannabe. She's a guest sometimes on dave hooker's podcast/YouTube show. I find her annoying.

Happy for those kids. Glad they get to experience that. Winning is contagious, and we'd forgotten how to do it. As a human that's witnessed many Bama ass whippings in person (we used to do that on the reg), I can say it is addictive, worse than any drug ive tried.

Tennessee deserves to spank thosw Turds every year for rest of my years. Only criticism Id have of those kids is they werent loud enough.

You gotsta scream.
