I’m sorry but since when are Kellie and her on the same level? When has Kellie ever been in the running for a number 1 seed? She has a better winning percentage the last four years, more Elite Eights, the same amount of Sweet Sixteens? I don’t see the comparison at all.

In my opinion, as a LVFL, Kelli deserves another year after this one, at least, to right the ship. All the talk about other ex players and their fundamentals and competitiveness, there weren't many more sound or competitive than Kelli Jolly.

I really like one of my employees who just does not have the skills to do his job adequately. He's nice, respectful and was excellent during his interview. But at the end of the day, he needs to find a company to which he is better suited or to a job that he can do proficiently. Do I keep him employed because he's nice and respectful? No, I need someone who can get the job done. Sorry, but this is a business, and if he can't meet expectations he has to go. I think the same of our coaching staff. College Basketball is a revenue-generating business. If a coach can't cut it, time to find someone who can. Oh, and my employee made less than $100k per year. CKJ makes over ten times that amount. Time to put things in perspective...

Correction: This thread isn't totally useless. We've gotten to be introduced to lots of total strangers who have developed a new-found interest in Lady Vol sports. Always some silver lining to be found, even in the depths of the sewer!

To admit we got this Lady Vol coaching hire wrong. Recruiting seems to be down....we don't win big games anymore....we lose games we shouldn't....and this program is quickly becoming an afterthought on the UT landscape. Softball and soccer are surpassing a program that once commanded respect. I said when we hired Harper that I felt Kara Lawson was the better choice. I was told she was inexperienced and not ready for this job. Well she's got NBA experience, international experience, a media presence, and she's got HER team ranked. Time to end this before it gets worse and bring Kara home.

What sells you so much on Kara? Not being a jerk just wondering

I always find it interesting when people say Pat would never have wanted a male coach. She almost always had one.

Good grief. We stll have a huge chunk of regular season games plus two tournaments yet to play. If this were the resolve the Allies had shown in WWII, we'd all be speaking German, Japanese, or Italian...the ones whose ancestors were left alive.

I get so #@%&ing sick of it, too. It only makes matters worse. Far worse.
If I survive this season it may be my last to follow and/or participate in sports social media. All the constant complaining has taken nearly all the fun out of it. Ugh.

Im Not a fan of the constant firing of coaches either. But question I have is, how long or what do you have to see for a change to happen? Downfall in rankings, start missing the tourney? Not getting any recruits? Much less high ranking ones?

For me it’s our position in the SEC and our ability to win championships in our league. Under Kellie there has been a noticeable improvement in our SEC standing which is very positive for her.

I also believe that was Holly’s ultimate downfall. When we started consistently missing that double bye and losing every game in February, it was over.

Whether or not Kellie can win an SEC championship in the next two seasons will be huge for her job. That was a big benchmark for White at UCF.

Conference championships are the hallmark of good teams. If you’re going to be the best, you have to own your league first.

The LV lose 6 players off this team. Worse yet Coach Harper has NO COMMITTED player in the class of 2023...that is not encouraging for the LV next year unless some players are obtained off the transfer players.

What games did we lose we shouldn't have?

You shouldn't have lost any of them we started out at the 5th ranked team in the country and haven't beaten one ranked team, and it took a miracle to beat Missouri, It doesn't take a smart person to know what the problem is. What other coach in the country would let a team at home go on a 11 to 0 run in the fourth quarter in a game we had a chance to win when she had 3 timeouts left.

Really need to hold off on Lawson being the answer even if they have only lost three games this year. They haven't played the teams that we've played and the one they did play UConn they lost by 28 points so let's not bring another Lady Vol in so quickly. We probably need to be seeking a legitimate highly experience coach that we don't have to keep repeating this every few years like we did in football. I mean Duke is a fairly good team, but if they had played the Lady Vols schedule they would be looking at about 8 losses just like we are.

Depends. Unless we up and beat So Carolina either reg season or tourney, we'll most likely get a tourney draw that will make it really hard to even get to the Sweet 16. That's where the crazy hard early season sched comes back to bite. So failure to get at very least to S16 with this squad would be a big disappointment.

Since there are no new high school recruits, the portal this spring becomes vital. It will make all the difference in next year. Without some good additions, espec scorers, we're probably a middling team next year.

IMO, that's the point the groundwork starts getting laid, feelers start going out. A good hire is alot about timing. about what's available when you go looking. IMO, unless great stuff we don't foresee happens, next season they'll start the process, maybe quietly.
